Chinese 125cc Motorcycles – Pulse Adrenaline Sinnis Apache Superbyke RMR Lexmoto LSM, Zontes, Shineray etc

First half of 2012’s sales figures looking interesting. Definitely seeing a move to small capacity cheap bikes from China and Taiwan. People clearly feeling the pinch and looking for cheap transport options.

Don’t see much chat on the forums from their owners though. Maybe when you’re at that end of the market, being a bike enthusiast and wanting to chat on forums doesn’t come into the script?

  :stuck_out_tongue:  :w00t:  :hehe:

The people I’ve known that owned Chinese bikes and scooters would not know what a “motorcycle forum” was. Up to now, it seems to me, people are buying these things for financial reasons.

What the heck, that’s what drove the motorcycle industry in this country for 50 odd years. It’s just a pity it’s now driving yet another far Eastern industry and adding to our import deficit.

I wonder how long it will be before the Chines realize that there is more money to be made in selling high quality motorcycle helmets and clothing than there is in selling 125cc bikes.

For someone running a 2007 Pulse Adrenaline for a few years, there must be something about Chinese bikes to make him buy another one (Sinnis Apache) when a myopic car driver wrote-off his Pulse.

Duplicate posting, sorry

Why not try??? Er Japen… They make great bikes!!

I see Pulse are bringing out a 250cc version of the Adrenaline at the end of June. Visordown article also here.

This should be interesting, particularly as it’s estimated price is going to be around £1999. Imported by Lexeter, if it does sell around this price it’ll come in way under Zing Bike’s Shineray 250 series, and massively below Honda’s CRF250L of which the supermoto version due out soon is likely to cost around £4100.

My original post at the top of this page mentioned that my brother was going to be my guinea pig for a Chinese bike, as he’d just bought himself a Pulse Adrenaline 125 for commuting duties and keeping his Street Triple good over winter. Well due to redundancy he ended up selling his Triumph back to the dealer he bought it from and has been using the Adrenaline almost daily since late October to commute to and from temporary jobs a few days here and a few days there. Is just about to roll over the 4k mile mark, and to-date he’s had the following problems with it… errrrrrrr, NONE! It’s picked up a bit of rust from the road salt, but nothing out of the ordinary that wouldn’t affect a Jap bike, and at £1700 on the road from his local dealer, he can afford not to be too precious about it. I’ve ridden it - it’s nothing special, but doesn’t embarass itself either. I would buy one at the drop of a hat but really need something bigger, even for commuting duties, SO…

I was planning on buying a new bike around now and have been looking at second hand DRZ400’s, the Honda CRF250L, but I reckon this is the one for me. As far as I can see, it’s a decent bike for the price, and I’ve got no worries about spares availability or resale. I’ll let you know how it goes if I do it.

I’d have one of them for hooliganing around town!
