Havent been on the forums in a good while, just wanted to drop a message to check in with everyone old and new.
Last time I was around was before the sad new about Ruth, We were close and I miss her every day. She had a beautiful send off with a nice group of you attending. (thank you)
Formerly in west london im now up in barnet north london, no idea of anywhere worth riding to up here so any recommendations are hugely welcome.
I recently had to get rid of my bike and wont be able to get another any time soon but hopefully back on 2s by summertime and definately looking for people to ride with.
Shout when you’re back on two wheels, I’m not far but not doing many miles anymore as lacking company! Ahhh miss the days of Sunday BCRs, Sunny Hunny ride outs and of course the Jetstreams
Well… it was almost a full year but im happy to say im back on 2 wheels. Going to take some time to get used to the bike before I look to ride with people just so im comfortable but its happening!
So far its brilliant mate, my previous bike was a kawasaki versys 1000 but it was just too big, the s1000 seems to have a good center of gravity and plenty of power where you need it (everywhere!) Its also the honeymoon phase tho so ill try give a less bias opinion in a month or two. Size wise its really nice too, as a 6"2 and rather large individual it seats me comfortably and rides great.
Welcome to the BMW gang. You’ve chosen a fabulous bike to get you back into riding. Despite the size and the power, it’s such a beautiful bike to ride, and it looks pretty damn good as well.
Of course I’ve still got a 675. I think that I’ll still have one in my 90s. It’s got the BMW to keep it company in the garage now, in case it gets lonely where it’s not being used.
