I live in North London and currently pay £460 TPFT for my 07 Bandit 1200. I am looking to get a new bike and today looked for a quote to insure an 07 KTM Superduke. My current insurer wouldn’t touch it and the best quote I could find anywhere was £1400 TPFT. I don’t have a garage but the bike is stored on a private driveway. It seems the only way I can have a nice bike is to move to a house with a garage in the middle of the country. Is it possible to get cheap insurance on a decent bike if you live in London?
you just answered your question :ermm:
try quin insurance i found they where the chepest for me
I rented a garage when I had my 02 gsxr 1000 and that was £350 tpft and I was 23 at the time.
Now, at 24, with a 97 bandit 1200 worth £1100, it was £400 tpft to insure it on my driveway in NW London too.
Not great. Tis the only thing I missed when moving to London - how cheap the insurance was!
not that I ride anything too fancy, but I live in what is classed as a high risk area, fully comp on an SV650 sport under £500 a year, with ebike insurance, saved me about £1500 had I gone with anybody else
Try Academy Insurance Services. They’re a broker and so far they have been very good, no guarantee they will necessarily find you a good quote as always several factors but fingers crossed.
By the way, slight tip. It always works for me. Think of what you are prepared to pay for your insurance, £XXX. And then tell whoever you phone up that such and such company have offered you TPFT/FComp for £XXX. I’ve never been disappointed. I still couldn’t believe I got £350 tpft on a gixer thou’ at the age of 23.
Try this tactic with cia insurance…or h&r.
