Almax chain with lock and decent ground anchor is the only one id use as its proven to do what its meant to. Do not use an Abus. Make sure you get a carrying case for the Almax, this secures on to the pillion seat making the bike a bit more wheelie prone but in no way a hinderance. When youre out make sure you lock your bike to something secure to stop it being lifted into a van.
Good choice of first bike, have fun.
Kempo, the guys here speak the truth, Abus isn’t worth the metal it’s made from! The thieves will just bolt-crop it in seconds! The Almax is the only one, it’s what we all use and can’t be bolt-cropped by hand.
I’ve got almax at home but for out and about I carry a Squire SS50 MC4 lock and chain because its a bit lighter and shorter than the almax and it gets a Ride Best Buy. I use one of them Motrex carriers for the pilion seat but they are expensive for what they are…
Phoned up Almax yesterday & i cant praise them enough, he asked me what bike i had & told me what i needed but because of demand ill have to wait untill tuesday. i got the series 3 with squire & he chucked in a lock back for nothing. also kept me on the phone for 15min telling other ways to keep my bike safe…including a boobytrap with 12 bore pellets…nutter…he he!!
it wasnt 10% off but he did take £10 off. He reckons you missed heard him…
anyway thanks… ill feel alot better when i get it…
If your pockets are deep enough try a nice shiny 9mm, don’t worry about the police they won’t catch you there to busy lunching down at the Ace and stopping people with small number plates
Almax chain excellent!! I had the Oxford Monster chain before, it looks weedy compared!!
I got the Almax immobiliser III chain 1.5m in length at the Ally Pally show back in Feb, for £79 but the kind lady chucked in the motrax bag for free and I got the squire ss65cs padlock at cost price from work, which saved me a few pennies
I always cover and lock my bike at night to a lampost ( I live 7 floors up)
