Get the tests booked - you won’t regret it. I am afraid I can’t help you with bike shopping, have bought some absolute disasters in my time (just don’t go on e bay) !! Am sure you can get some help though. I have a good mate who’s been biking for years and is good to take on a bike shop, so he might be able to help if you need anyone. Let us know if so.
