Yesterday i had my CBT booked, when i got there, there were 2 other people doing the CBT at the same time, a man and woman, both in their mid-late thirties.
whizzing aruond in first gear, practicing stopping on the line… 2nd… 3rd…
for about 45 minutes i’m doing the same thing over and over and over, pull away, change to 2nd, go around the corner, change to 3rd, back to 2nd for a corner and then stop on a line…
I noticed a few times when i pulled up and the woman was already sitting at the stop point, that she was taking a rediculous amount of time to pull away, as i figured pulling away at the same time right before a bend might not be the best idea, so i’d let her pull away first since she was there first. Later i noticed that she was going very slowly around the course, but could hear high revs, clearly in first gear… i then found out that she hadn’t successfully got the bike into 2nd gear yet.
A little later we were going in and out of cones, then doing a figure of 8. the guy rode around for about 5 minutes, was told that was fine, I did the same. Then the instructor spent over half an hour with the woman, trying to get her to do it right.
The instructor decided that we should call it a day and finish up some other time, because “you guys are getting stressed with yourselves”… the other man seemed quite relaxed, and i was enjoying myself… train ticket cost me £15, had to get a taxi to and from the station, £4 each… that’s £23 travel that i have to spend AGAIN… only reason i was happy with spending the extra was because this place was the only place i could find that would do the CBT this week, and i was eager to get it done.
Do you think its right for 1 person to hold everyone up SO much? especially when there were 2 instructors there, I also felt as if i was getting a very poor amount of the instructors attention. One instructor spent the whole day with the woman, the other spent at least 80% of his time with the other guy, occasionally/rarely coming to see if i was doing it right…
