CBR600F Super Quiet - Decat?

Hey!

I bought a 2011 CBR600F (So called Hornet in a Dress) and it’s soooo quiet. Totally unsuitable for London Roads
It’s got an Akrapovic can but still sounds like Honda Prius not a CBR. I trolled online and see they are all like this UNLESS you get it decat or install Full Arrow system.

Now, with Full Pipes costing over £400 I was wondering if anyone knows a good place to get it decat?
Would I have to run it through the Dymo and/or adjust the fueling in any way after that?

Really need this bike to sounds like a Motorcycle and not fancy spending £500 for the Full System.

Any thoughts welcome!

Thanks,

It’s probably safe to say that the Akropovic exhaust has a baffle in it. If you take that out it’ll make more noise. No need to get a decat pipe if it’s just noise you’re after.

decat will make it a lot louder but will cost a lot.

Turn it on?

Tim ( scorch on here) decatted the pipes on my rsv. Did a great job and reasonable price too. Be worth giving him a shout!

Thanks for all your replies.
Those Akrapovic have no baffles in it sadly : https://www.akrapovic.com/#!/motorcycle/product/road/421?brandId=30&modelId=121&yearId=510 - that’s the one I have fitted. If you play the sound on the Akrap site you will hear there is hardly any difference between this and stock. Baffles was the first thing I checked.

I will reach out to Tim, thanks a bunch!
Seems like Decat is the only option.

Have you still got the original exhaust?

Check out Del Boys Garage here

Nah, don’t have the original one. Dellboy’s trick looking good, but I don’t think it will help here… Also I wouldn’t want to rip this Akrapovic apart like that. It’s looking really good (shame it doesn’t sound good :))
I read on some forums that even without the can on this bike sounds really quiet. Apparently the “problem” lies in the down-pipes and the cat.
I will actually take the Akrap out to try it. My old CBR without the can it sounds like a fighter jet
