CBR1000rr 04 - 06 Flapper valve

http://www.rogueracing.org/flap.htm This is a really good explanation of what to do from Phil West @ MCN.

I use mine everyday for commuting in to London so obviously spend quite a lot of time at slow speeds and I do a lot of filtering in town, and you would not believe the difference it has made. The snatchiness at low revs has almost gone, the pick up is alot smoother and not lumpy at all, and generally it is a lot smoother through the rev range, makes a slightly rortier sound, and also the gear change seems a lot slicker (not sure if that is in my head or not but it seems to be the case)

Try it, if you don’t like it put it back takes all of 5 mins to do!

Sounds interesting…Wonder if a similar trick would work on the R1.

You don’t ride a red CBR 1000 RR do you and cover it with a slightly ripped and tatty Oxford cover?

By the way, how many miles do you get till reserve.

I’m disappointed that the R1 only gets 100 miles until the reserve light comes on, but I think that’s standard. My R6 gets a bit better mileage though.

The sig kind of gives the colour away, and I usually get about 110 when commuting but up to 120/5 when out on the open road, or about 80 on the track.

Best mod i did to mine was change the sprocket on the rear from 40 up to a 42…

lost a bit of the top but the gearing is brilliant, it’s like a rocket from the off and very smooth…

planning on dropping a cog myself.

just trying to find the time to get it sorted with the speedo healer
