Carole Nash

Just wanted to share an experience as it does not sit well with me.

Had a phone call from the above to say the card they have on file will expire so can I contact them with new card details.

Rang back to check and my policy expires on 20 Oct. Asked what the renewal premium is and they said they do not know yet as rates have not been set.

When I asked why they wanted card details now without knowing the premium they said to make it easier for me!

I know insurers have auto renewal now but I have never before been chased for a form of payment when a price had not even been given.

Rant over

Haha welcome to insurance

I would assume your card expires at the end of this month, and that they just automatically contact everyone during the month their card expires to update the file regardless of when their policy expires.  Nothing to do with payment at the time but just to keep the file up to date.

I think policy auto-renewal should be illegal if the quoted price is higher than you paid last year. Would give insurance companies more incentive to not rip people off.

Also this practice//you buy insurance and 2 weeks later you get a mobile call from the insurers to…Tell you they want you to get the best out of your policy… ie add on lost key insurance, flat tyre insurance, your-arse-setting-itself-on-fire insurance and other useless shite designed to crowbar mor £££ out of your wallet for zilch return (unless your arse habitually bursts into flame)

We are just non entity’s in this false environment that jump through hoops making this false environment functionable :rage:
