canceling T-mobile contract

as my contract is up next month i will cancel my T-mobile contract.

anyone know if this needs to be done in writing and if so anyone have the address?

thanks

I think you just ring them up (150 from your mobile or 0845 412 5000) and cancel.

Remember, if you are going to another network you’ll need your PAC code.

Hope that helps and let us know how you get on as I’ve got to do this soon!

Sometimes they’ll try to tell you to write in, but this is just a delay tactic so it rolls over onto another month!!

been on hold for 46mins and counting :pinch:

Im sure once your contract is up you can just cancel it over the phone. I did this with vodaphone /Tmobile might be different but im sure you can

You asked how you did it – I didn’t say they’d want to let you go (or even talk to you for that matter!)

:w00t::hehe:

go fix something you!

:stuck_out_tongue:

I have this feeling that they’ll make you hold for another month…lol. Nah seriously its just done over the phone verbally…they will try to persuade you to stay offering you a deal thats nowhere to be seen…

well i gave up after 60+mins as a)battery was running out b)had to prepare dinner :errm:

It’s like Hotel California… You can check out any time you like, but you can never leave!

Make sure you ask for your PAC code before canceling contract as companies have been known to try to NOT provide these afterward owing to you having terminated the contract and therefore their being no PAC code to provide! Oh but when you offer to renew with them they have no trouble finding the smallest detail then!!!

Can you get in to one of their shops to sort it out “in person”?

i had trouble with orange so told them in october that i wanted to cancel my contract at the earliest possible date… yaaah in me dreams! i called them again in december and told them i wanted them to disconnect my line asap. They put it down for 29th JANUARY bastids!

Just ring up the new business line and cancel it through them - they’ll answer almost straight away. Cancellation lines never get picked up, for obvious reasons.

If they ask for a reason why you want to cancel, don’t give them one: stand your ground and tell them politely that it’s none of their concern - just that you want to cancel your contract. Don’t get shirty, just be boring and insistent.

I’ve found trying to cancel contracts with companies like that to be akin to dealing with mad drunks on the train. If you get into a conversation with them, you’ll never get away!

5150’s got a point - I always found the best way to get through to Customer Services was to ring the sales number - it gets picked up immediately and they’ll put you through internally

that what i did … when through the upgrade number and they transfered me to the cancellation department (read 20min tape on infinite repeat) :pinch:

thats the way i used before; you get straight though on the business line and they either deal with you or have to transfer you but it can end up quicker

no need for written cancellation letter but get them to confirm in email/letter and as has been said get the PAC number (usually valid 30 days or so)

I cancelled my t-mobile contract recently over the phone and got my PAC number sent via text (they also confirmed it by a letter), didn’t need to send anythign in via writting. They tried everything to get me to stay but the reason I was leaving was I wanted an iPhone, nothing they could do about that being as they don’t do them :stuck_out_tongue:
