Apart from the genetics, wearing a lid for sustained periods of time apparently starves the scalp of oxygen, thus dead hair follicles.

Damn good reason for speeding! Sorry occifer, I was just trying to ram some air through these helmet vents to stop me going bald you see. Bound to work!
