can anybody show me some directions

some of you may know Martin Jahnke, the 27 year old Cambridge postgraduate who threw a shoe at Chinese premier to protest last week, now he face charges. I am looking for his defense lawyer in all different published reports, but couldn’t find any clue to who act as his defense lawyer, I wonder if anybody knows how to seek information like this. I will buy you drinks:D later

you could try calling the agency that covered the story and ask them to pass your details to the reporter that did the original story. I have used this method in the past but for music news.

hope it helps

tried that in the afternoon, without success. the thing is, the stories appeared in different media mostly based on teh same source, i couldn’t find the reporters appeared in cambridge court hearing yesterday.

i don’t know if there is some legal directory or helpline for that

Just out of interest … what do you want his lawyers details for?

It’s quite a recent thing (last couple of years) … in civil cases you can apply to the court for a copy of the pleadings … and his lawyers details will be on that … (I’m a legal secretary and know on a case I worked on - The Guardian applied for permission - but lost  )

In criminal cases though … shrug

There won’t be a directory to tell you who is acting for who … but … link … is a searchable roll of solicitors … though obviously you’d need his name …

i want to pass some useful information, and forward some promised support from some supporters. the young man may face up to 6 monthes jail and 5000 pounds fine, if found guilty. i do not like to see the young man to be bullied by the system, any assurance will be good for him

thanks for the link, i will look for a solicitor in cambridge area, and ask them

As above, the official public record of proceedings will say who is acting for the defendant.

I don’t see how anyone can leap to the defence of this (shoe) tosser;)

Bullied by the system??? It was his choice to toss the shoe and, frankly ,if the courts have the chance to punish the tosser then they should…:)

bbs monk, you have pm

obviously you are more confident in your system in which the court of appeal can be bullied by foreign office to hide ugly truth from public(US and UK agent torturing innocent people) in the name of “protecting public interets”. Who knows the government wouldn’t kiss chinese authority’s ass to interfere this time, in order to win economic favors from china, to screw chinese people together with chinese government. Like Martin Jahnke protested: Cambridge is whoring itself to kiss chinese leaders’ ass too:D cambridge has enrolled many students from the families of chinese top officials(almost all corrupted:w00t:) and gave them studentships.

i also personally tasted the just system when some idiot traffice warden gave me tickets after i paid, now the westminster council and bailiffs on my back everyday, making threat phone calls through BT(as if i do not have enough trouble of my own:w00t:) i feel oblighed to show some support to the people who may be screwed by the system.

Sorry, I still don’t get it.

In what was was this German bloke screwed by our system?

Did he not launch the shoe?

Are you saying he’s been framed?

he might be screwed by the system, if they gave him a criminal record, he couldn’t continue his study, a 6 month prison sentence and £5,000 fine. He might have been better treated in Iraq, having a few broken ribs instead of £5000 pounds and 6 months sentence.

I assume that as he is a Pathology Student he has enough grey cells to realise he was being naughty and for his actions there would be a consequence.I’m sure that if you went to many other countries and launched an attack on a head of state he would have been dealt a bit more than a fine and a few weeks in Butlins;)

in an ideal situation, a head of state could be lynched by a mob:D and everybody is happy

+1 - there is no question about his guilt … he definately did it … didn’t he? :hehe:Do the crime pay the time as they say …(IMHO of course)

I’d put your efforts into something with more chance of a successful outcome. Chucking a shoe at anyone in authority is funny in my eyes, but I sure as hell won’t do it, as I know you’re gonna get fckued.

He’s obviously intelligent, so by committing this crime he has done what he intended to do and got publicity. Hence us talking about it.

Now it’s time for him to be punished - and if that means making an example of him, then so be it.

Chunky, if you have any idea about throwing your shoes at me (for that Curtis photoshop incident), I’ll be seeking the same lawyers the Chinese used! :w00t:

There’s a size 10 Sidi with your name on it mate;):P:D

lmao - I can smell it from here!
