Cambridge Audio A500 stereo hifi amplifier

Having a bit of a sort out, so this is now going spare. It’s a Cambridge Audio A500 integrated amp in black. Good solid amp, about 65W, can be bi-wired, has pre-out for bi-amping/hooking up sub etc, tape loop, and with remote control. In black, cosmetically very good, couple of tiny marks on top and just one or two bits of text slightly rubbed away. In good working order, no problems, no crackle on volume etc.The remote is not the original one, it’s a later Azur era remote in silver and has a few scratches on it. But works fine nonetheless. I’m after £50. Based over in Dagenham. Probably a bit large and awkward for me to bring it to BM and the like though.

Anyone interested?

Nice, I have one of those too.

So do we - exactly the same:)

If you put two together - would it like amplify the amplified sound? That would be proper loud

Now sold.

Used to have one…Good sound quality

Yup…looks like it has two pre-out outputs which you could stick into anothrr amp.
If you only had another integrated amp, you’d have to daisy chain them and that wouldn’t get the best of the sound.

Amazing how cheap decent predigital amps are. I think the sound of the trad tube amps are stunning. I still prefer mine over the modern tinny sounds with bass thump

Yep, many years ago, I had an Cambridge Audio A4 amp, which is very similar to this and I daisy chained a Cambridge Audio P500 power amp onto the pre-out. I also had one of the original Dacmagic’s too to sit upfront between PC and the amps. All dirt cheap off ebay and sounded pretty damned good to be honest. I then got the bug and kept on upgrading…

Had an old Rogers Cadet 3 tube amp off freecycle a few years ago. Been in someones loft for decades, needed a bit of TLC and a new wooden case, but got it running again and it did sound rather good considering the distortion, though did need some efficient speakers. Flogged it for £200 in the end!
