Do you think I should argue being caught in a bus lane like this?
Video here: http://youtu.be/5kr5dLxxb50
isnt that the same buslane that Davori got a fine in and is fighting?
Bang to rights !! What possible excuse could you give ?
they have you bang to rights(unless it was before 7am,or after 7pm), pay up and put it down to experience, next time stay on the line
Appeal all if you can whether right or wrong.
Taken fron ticketfighter.co.uk:
An advance sign to warn there is a bus lane ahead and give you time to change lanes. This should be cited 30m in advance of the taper where the speed limit is 30mph and 45m in advance where it is over 30mph
That sign in one of your pics is a bit close?
Panagiotis: Yes it is, except I’m going the other way.
I just wondered if the badly maintained and ‘confusing’ road markings could be sufficient. Wanted to consult the infinite wisdom of LB before I do anything. I guess I’ll pay up then. Thanks!
I think there might be one just as you come out from under the bridge or near the bus stop there. I’ll have a quick look later.
The Traffic Management And Parking Guidance For London says that. Deflection arrows to diagram 1014 should be placed 15 m and 30 m upstream of the start of the taper.
- Advance indication of a with –flow bus lane is provided by the sign to diagram 958. Where the speed limit is 20mph or 30mph the sign should be sited 30m in advance of the lead in taper formed by the road making to diagram 1010, with a minimum clear visibility distance of 45m. Again from the pictures the council has failed to erect them anywhere near 30m in advance.
Beware that this is only guidance, and not part TSRGD 2002.
Always worth an informal appeal, It costs nothing. I would end the letter with something like this:
Should my appeal be rejected, I require the following information so that I can appeal to the parking adjudicator. Please treat this as a request under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 for the following documents:
a) A copy of the bus lane order or regulation giving effect to the Bus Lane.
b) A copy of the Safety Audit for this road layout.
c) A copy of the engineer’s scale diagrams showing the layout of this Bus Lane, the road markings and the signage (including warnings of camera enforcement).
d) Copies of any approvals of deviations of signage from TSRGD.
e) Logs of maintenance visits verifying existence and condition of the signs.
