So this morning riding in on the bike start over taking a bus on the waterloo bridge, only for the F**KER to start pulling over, I hammer the breaks and back off just in time (for the record, no indication nothing). Pull up next to him he knows he has done wrong and just completely blanks me!
Then Lunch time I’m walking to sainos to grab some grub, 3 lanes (1 right, 1 straight, 1 Left) bike in middle lane bus in the left lane wants to go right just cuts across him (how he did not go into the side of the bus I do not know).
So be careful the sun must of damaged the bus drivers yesterday
what time was that this morning and what bike were you on? I witnessed a similar event on my way in
would have been around about 8:40ish give or take 10 mins.
was on a Blue kwak GPZ 500
the guy in front of me was on a bmw gs and got barged by the bus! he didn’t look happy
follow bus till it stops…get on and grab said twat by the throat…bet he sees you then !!!
Bus drivers are terrible for it, not only pulling out without indicating but often swinging onto the wrong side of the road to get around the bus in front (which is usually about to set off in 10 seconds anyway).
I don’t understand what they’re in such a rush for - they only have to turn around and come back when they reach their destination.
In my experience, they don’t give a crap if you confront them, note the details of the bus & driver & report the to TfL.
because their performance is based on how well they stick to the timetable I would guess. hence why they accelerate and brake so hard
they are not just rude with other motorists, they are with passengers too. totally unjustified bad behaviour.
now, if you are in your vehicle and make a bad manouvre, i get angry and beep at you. thats usually about it.
if you are a bus driver driving around a bunch of passengers and cut through 3 lanes on the a40 without indicating and almost taking with you 2 other vehicles, i get rageous. i may even get next to you at the traffic lights where you have to stop and make sure you are very aware of what you’ve just done.
next time i’ll get in to speak to you face to face. muthafucka.

If bus drivers performance is rated by how fast they can drive through congested city streets then there is something very wrong with the system.
The positioning of bus stops doesn’t help either. Sometimes they seem to have been picked specifically to cause traffic chaos/accidents.
The junction of Long road & clapham common southside heading south is a great one - the bus stop is on the left of the two straight on lanes, buses then have to pull out across 3 lanes of traffic to turn right down long lane, cutting up everyone who’s trying to go straight on.
they DON’T f**k about when I’m in my 44 tonner :D…squeeze the b’stids to the path, childish but fun
I sometimes do a bit of bus work as a spare pool driver. All the London companies have a high turnover of staff. Rather than reporting any incident to TfL, you’re better reporting it straight to the bus company. Most operators have excellent cctv on the buses which will probably have picked up any incident. Drivers will be pulled in and disciplined if they’ve been naughty and the garage managers are pretty quick to give people the boot hence the almost permanent recruitment.
Take it up with the driver if you want, but don’t expect much of a response. They take verbal from the public all day long. Most incidents or ‘perceived incidents’ aren’t their fault, but either way, they’re experts at adopting a blank look and letting it all go in one ear and out the other. Make it a physical confrontation if you like but you’ve probably got more to lose than them, and certainly a lot of the ones I work with will be quite happy to retaliate.
I think I’m quite a polite and considerate person when I’m on bus work, but if I had to do it every day then I think adopting a ‘couldn’t give a f**k’ attitude is probably an important tool in retaining your sanity! :hehe:
bus drivers aren’t rated, or drive badly because they’re “on schedule”, christ when have buses EVER been on time.
They drive badly, cos its a crap job and they are bored to tears of having to relate to ignorant members of the public, and driving on London’s roads ALL day…
