Brake Fluid ?

Putting some braided hoses on in near future, question is:- Is there a specific brake fluid to go for or are they all the same ?

Thanks for ant info

Darbo, are you using the original brake calipers and MC? I have Brembo MC and Goodridge Hoses on my Kawa and so I use the Brembo - Brake Fluid (04.8164.11) on it, you don’t need too, any Dot4 fluid will do

you can buy racing fluid which is a funny colour normally bright green or blue and it doesnt boil when it gets hot like normal fluid but that only matters if your really gunning it round a track but as for manufactures i cant help all i know its racing brake fluid

Yes keeping originals, just changing lines and fittings for HEL lines with Ti fittings.

Thanks

Dot 4 is what you want for the road, Dot 5 has a higher boiling point, so better for the track, but you won’t get those sort of temps on the road, and Dot 5 also has to be changed a lot more often than Dot 4 as it absorbs crap easier.

Just put a set of hel lines on my bike, i used putoline dot 4, no probs.

only one real rule… .dont use ther wrong one! if the book says dot4 then use dot4 it shouldnt matter which brand but it should be from an unopened clean container, dont mix dot 4 and dot5 they are different animals !

well said Kenny my friend!

DOT4 for the road. For track use DOT5, you should change it at least every six months. DOT6 for full on racing and change it every couple of weeks.
