Bovvered!

My used and abused thundercat was knocked over yesterday, I didnt see it happen, all I know is that when I returned to where I parked it in a bay, the disk lock was all the way up to the mudguard, and there were scrapes on the clip-on, starter cover, exhaust and pegs…and a little one on my top-box rack.

Nuts, and the steering seems a bit out of line now, think the head bearings might have taken a knock (would this cause this???), have tried a bit of pressure to the bars, and will see if that made any difference…

So I cant park my bike nose in, cos then cars/vans hit the arse and topple it over, and I cant park it bottom in cos then the tank gets scratched by mopeds…arrgh. No point in getting a decent bike while I have to park it there…

I’ve been in the similar position before. I know what you feel mate. :frowning:

Thats a bumer, sounds like its tried to be moved maybe to make room. Dont make you pleased though!!!

typical scooter riders…they make sardine tins look roomy *ankers:angry:

just give the head bearings a quick tighten, (5 min job) if it still doesnt solve it, then loosen the pinch bolts and straighten it by eye, should solve the problems:)

Nice one mate, thanks for that, will give it a try!

Sorry to hear these w*****s pushed your bike over mate.

As TM says but be careful not to loosen the top and bottom yolk clamps too much cos will end up all the way through the yolks:w00t:

Once loosened slightly bounce the front end up and down a couple of times. This will centralise everything.

To check head race wear, jack the front end in the air. Stand in front of the bike, grab both fork legs as low as possible and pull them towards yourself and push away. If there is any movement, your head bearings need tightening.

If you did get a sniney new model, do you not think they might treat it with a bit more respect? :doze:

Thanks mate, I dont think that any of the muppets that park near my way have any respect…regardless of bike, and seeing as I am lokoing at a 748/749 or an RSV-R I dont want to see that on its side…

Having ridden to Borough a couple of times on my TLR, I have to say anyone who rides a bike like that in town on a regular basis is totally barking anyway;)

bummer

Some people are just bang out of order and have no respect for other people’s property. If you’re going to get a nice bike, I would suggest trying to find some off street parking facility. Not the easiest thing to do but it’s certainly possible if you ask around enough.

Or keep your Cat and get a decent bike for Sunday Best:cool:

Or get a rough around the edges comfy barge for town run (deauville?), and the Prila for best!

And get a 7r, and RS250 -I know one for sale -cheap £2000 5k W reg, original, mint. Wish I had £2k…arse!!!

Ian you might want to check that the forks aren’t twisted slightly in the yokes…Had this on my R6 when muppet thieves dropped it out the back of a van.Its an easy job to check and fix.

Sorry to hear this shite…I’m taking my R1 off the road and it may never return to be honest as I’m seriously thinking about turning it into a trackbike like my mate Roger is doing with his ZX6R.

To be honest, riding in London for almost 4 years has been a bit of a mission and expensive as there are so many idiots that will knock you off or knock over an expensive bike parked.

Think I’ll just be using a £400 shi**er as my main ride.

E, that sucks, hope you get it sorted soon!

so sorry to hear that mate, hope you and your boyfriend enjoyed lunch:laugh:

Thanks you guys, the idea of a town ‘hack’ and a decent sunday bike is more and more appealing now, might keep the cat as the hack tho!!

And ginge, my boyfriend said he fancied you, so I gave him your number…:w00t:

that would be a bit hard as you dont have my new number :w00t:by the way you must be loaded to eat in there , can i borrow a monkey

You counting your chickens mate?

thats why i never park in town, my baby is too precious! get yaself a vespa love like me!!:w00t:
