The Bol is one of the biggest meetings in the European bike race calendar![]()
It’s a 24 hour endurance race at Magny Cours in France, part of the world championship and a great 3 day party attended by over 100,000 fans with all kinds of stunts, entertainment and funfair going on around the clock.
You need to go there once before you hang up your leathers![]()
I’d love to go, but the wife wouldn’t let me ![]()
Get your boy acclimatized to the racing, get them all in the mini bus and off ya go![]()
![]()
It was nice when the Bol was at Paul Ricard cos it was in South of France![]()
I don’t think I’d be taking the boy abroad with me for a weekend, I’d lose him or something, I’ll have to wait to next year to go abroad again, alone, without the family, for a little bit of peace and quiet![]()
VFR1000 if i’m not mistaken![]()

Drama with 20 Minutes to Go
Horst Saiger crashed the Bolliger Kawasaki as he left the pit lane for the final time, he flipped the bike as he switched off the pit lane speed limiter. The bike cartwheeled and destroyed its front wheel, and Saiger was unable to move it back the few metres necessary for his pitcrew - by now standing on the other side of the crash barrier within reach of him - to be allowed to help him.
The marshals watched as he tried to drag the bike by himself and dropped it twice. Once the Austrian rider had been forced to give up attempting to drag the Swiss Kawasaki, they quickly moved the bike to safety…
I do hope someone gets it on Youtube;)
How heartbreaking must that be after racing the bike so well for 23 hours and 40 minutes:crazy:Well done Phase One for a solid 4th Place:)
