Is anybody going to the BMF festival in Peterborough next month? My first time going, and I hope it’ll be good
i remember going as a kid and it being really good, but i went last year and was disappointed, lots of dodgy looking blokes flogging questionable looking gear always pulls a massive following though, maybe just a bad experience on my part
o.0 Well I’ll look out for said questionable gear then! I need to buy a new crash helmet and gloves while I’m there >.<
I am going on the bike on the Saturday morning, hoping to ride down with a few people cause I am clueless when it comes to directions. People kept saying to me on the St George ride out…“Yeah Swindon is just over that way…” like somehow that was going to mean something to me, surely I would need to know where places were in relation to where Swindon was for that to mean something, and if I knew that, I would likely have known where I was, instead of being utterly lost for the entire day.
I don’t think I have been before. I am not sure I will staying the evening either, depends on whether I can get a tent and stuff together before hand.
Mmm well fair enough I don’t have to worry about directions 'cause I’ll be pillion lol >.< Next year I’ll have a bike and I’ll get up there myself
Peterborough show ground is pretty easy to find. I just have problems finding the A1 in North London. Bloody foreign territory to us SE London people.
New promoters this year who are trying to turn the event around and weed out the shysters. Supposed to be more family stuff and more manufacturers there this time around.
If you go, do visit The Riders Digest stand and say hello to John Newman, tell him your from LB. He’s a co promoter this year and realy nervous about his commitment. If nothing else, you’ll get a free copy of TRD.
I’ll be going by car this year as I’ve promised a couple of folks that I’ll bring their new bought stuff back down to civilisation this year.
I haven’t been for a couple of years and i want to go this year.
Never been, but, looks good, so, may well see you there
There’s usually lots of cheap gear - last year or 08 stuff mind - but I’ve bought lots from this show.
Might take a run up there again depending on busy-ness
Got to endorse andrew&7 post.
Being an old tightwad, I love this show for the bargains. The side shows and the manufacturers stands can also be good and the moped enduro bargain basement “racing” at its’ best. Not sure if that’s on this year.
A lot of the stuff is manufacturers “seconds” so check it over pretty carefully. Check the date(s) on helmets and only buy if they are still boxed. CHECK THE CONTENTS MATCH THE BOX!
My advice, for what it’s worth. Make a list(s) of what you need/want and try to stick to it. I’ve bought all sorts of stuff over the years and I still wonder why I did with some of it. It was a bargain though.
Got to be said that it’s better in the sunshine than in the rain but still a good day out and, if your not driving/riding, you can still find half decent beer at a good price and “cheap” food.
You’ll not get all of that at XL.
Well, I’m going to Spain this Saturday… And truth be told I’m more excited about the show lol!
