Bleeding Race lines compared to Over Mudgaurd

I’m going to order a set of Braided lines tomorrow.

Are the Racing lines harder to bleed than the over mudgaurd ones or are the the same?

I use Gunson’s Eezibleed, does what it says on the box - easy

There’s a how2 demo here bleeding an old VW Beetle, its the same principal for motorcycles

i just wondered as the racing lines have 2 lines coming from the master cylinder rather than one is it harder to bleed? do you need to bleed both calipers at the same time or can you do one then the other?

One at a time

The normal way to bleed multiple callipers on one master cylinder is to start from the furthest away, the longest line. But since both callipers will be equal distance I think the way to do it is to partially bleed one line, move over and bleed the other, then return and finish off bleeding the first. Then again if you wanted to be clever the Eezibleed will alow you to bleed both calipers at the same time.

By using the Eezibleed the pressure in the brake lines should be sufficient to not get the usual problem of air being sucked between the two lines as you pump the brake lever. Note you don’t need to pump the brake lever, just release the nipple and let the pressure within the system do what it does

cool, cheers

Gunson eezibleed air pressured type will only work on the cylindrical reservoirs similiar to car but not on the kawasaki or other style oblong reservoirs so make sure it will fit before.purchase

try the self bleed kit that has a one way valve fitted .

but to answer question there is no real difference in the process … just make sure you bleed the master cylinder before attempting bleeding the lines … also little tip is … attach new lines and open caliper nipples and allow gravity to do some of the work keeping an eye on the fluid level and where it is going (master cyli der may require bleeding first) let the fluid run freely then bleed via the pump method/desired gadget method.

Well spotted Tim

The Bonne has the ‘piss pot’ type reservoir

I got a cheap one man bleed kit from Halfords. £4.99, so if it’s no good it’s no real expense.

For £4.99 I’d be modding the braking system to make it work

I use a syringe to pull the fluid through
