black beauty

well, after some 8 weeks of bike anguish, i’m finally back in posession of my pride and joy. well technically, its a new pride of joy as the last r1 is still in lots of pieces at the repairer. apparently its a bit of a sore topic as they ordered lots of parts, then found more damage which made it an economic write off. would have thought they’d have stripped it for the estimate but apparently not. pleased to have a new machine rather than a ‘made good’ altho would have preferred to have not taken so flipping long doing it!

picked her up on friday, had some fun with her up in herts, Ace then Frith. spent the last few days getting her back to her former glory - i’m a dab hand at stripping down the back of the bike now as have had to strip and refit 3 times in two days (donor bike, my bike, then again to do the electrics). its actually better than before in terms of the indicators as i wired in some resistors to the integrated rear light and now the blink rates are all cushty. tiring but fun

its awesome to have her back!
