Had a letter today from the Council saying that in their opinion their contractor was at fault and they have given my details to them for payment ! Letter is still without prejudice and they’ve not paid out yet, won’t be over until the cash is in my account but it’s a step closer to resolution !

Sweet. Well it sounds like you’ll have the council on your side for any further negotiations. And that must count for a lot since the subby does the work on behalf of the council.
