My mate Calum had his MT10 nicked from Heathrow Airport 3 years ago. Insurance company was not very helpful and didn’t payout…
Friday last week he got a call from MET police to say his bike had been involved in a high speed pursuit in Northampton shire. and was successfully stopped.
The upside is he has his bike back in his garage at his home.
It was shit having it stolen, but now 2 bikes later he has it back and he is a happy bunny!!

honestly, I’m so not surprised on this shit, given I have a post up having found my stolen car but the police doing as little as possible to resolve the issue!

The police are their own worst enemy. They do sod all of use and then wonder why the public hate them.

I can trump that.
Had a scooter stolen from outside my house, was uninsured so no payout. (I was overseas - my bro was moving my stuff between houses - and left it on the road before returning to get it as the van was full)
7 years later Wiltshire police get in contact - £250 quid recovery plus £12 a day storage - or they dispose of it after it was left in the middle of a roundabout after a crash.
I pointed out it was stolen and dug out the crime number etc. They didn’t give a fck and I had to pay to get my own stolen bike from the police pound.
£300 odd quid later, a hire van and a mate and got it home and back on the road.
Few weeks later it wouldn’t start - so left it (outside a police station) and caught tube to work. Got home and it was knicked again.
That’s the scoot that I crashed on twice on the way home from the CBT centre, Total cost over £2k and did less than 100 miles on it…

Back in about 1987 I had a GSXR-750 while living in Queens Park, W London. It got nicked (surprise surprise).
One year later I had a phone call from the police, did I own a Suzuki reg no Exxxxx? I had to stop and think for moment. I said well I did but is was stolen a year ago. they asked me to attend a police station at Chalk Farm, which turned out to be a ‘secret squirrel’ place in a car park! Apparently the base of their Serious Crimes unit, no signs, nothing.
Turns out they found the bike along with about 30 others in a garage in Wales. I’d already had the insurance of course so the option of getting it back wasn’t there.
