I am not aware that the CBT is changing - you will still be able to have a new CBT following the expiry of the old one. I have heard that the Government is considering making CBTs last only one year though. No sign of the legislation changing though, and the current certificate says it lasts two years so new laws will probably only apply to new CBTs obtained after the change.

See here - http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Motoring/LearnerAndNewDrivers/RidingMotorcyclesAndMopeds/DG_4022430

As for instructors - the one I had on the day of my test told me a load of complete blx about the law on various things including the new drivers act all of which I ignored as I knew he was talking nonsense.

If the government change the 2 year rule on the CBT, it would be purely for money, not skills or passing ones test. The government have realised that people are increasingly turning to bikes as an alternative to their usual commute and can see £££ signs ringing at the tills and want some of the action.

The new test coming this October is an absolute shambles. The number of centres proposed will not happen and complaints are already being received from people finding out that they may have to travel over 100miles each way to do their test. The knock on affect could be that many riding school will go under because they will not be in a position to offer training to many on their test day because of the distances involved.

If anyone has a recentl CBT pass, I would recommend getting as many miles under your belt on as many different roads and conditions as possible, obviously enjoying the riding at the same time, and get yourself booked for the test.

ok guys thanks for reply i told her look on site you gave me and she sortted it know thanks .
