Seems to be pretty costly, if you do 5 journeys a week you might as well buy your own scooter with the blanket and what not. Also airport fares from £120 to £200? Surely I would pay a black cab or mini cab (£70 to £120) and relax in confort with extra luggage. It would probably take a little longer but cabs have access to the special lanes too:) and on a Pan Euro I can’t see much filtering happening. If it was cheaper or charged £2 per mile or something…
“Minimum charge is £30, for journeys up to 4 miles. Journeys will be priced at £7.50 for each additional 2 miles, or part of thereafter. e.g. for journeys up to 6 miles £37.50, up to 8 miles £45, etc… Stops en route will incur a £5 charge in addition to any waiting time.”
Surely with this statement " The high-efficiency PGM-FI fuel injection system and ultra-clean HECS3 catalytic converter combine to ensure stronger power and the lowest emissions in its class." and “…worlds first 100% carbon negative transportation company…” the cost of running and petrol must be half of a black cab or mini cabs?
Wha do you think? A one off experience for people who never ridden a bike or something more practical?
I was a taxi bike rider for two year at Addisson Lee over 90% of our clients were regulars on corporate accounts or very rich!
I used to be able to get someone from in the city to Heathrow in 40 minutes door to door during the day…no train or cab could get close to that. Some clients liked the thrill of going on the bike without having to worry about riding a bike themselves. Then we would get the one off rides for special events and as presents etc…loads of celebrities etc on the back and not Z list ones!
I commute on a pan. Compared to commuting on a GSA or tenere it’s easier because the mirrors are lower than most car mirrors (let alone vans etc) and the bars are narrow. The only downside is the turning circle (akin to a cruise liner)
I service the bikes fro Passenger bikes Been on the back several times moving bikes about !
Tom, the boss, in particular is seriously quick just glides though traffic and knows all the cut thoughs! Well better than 10 years at 40k miles a year will do that for you !
It is not a cheap option but it is a quick one
meh, i was thinking about this service , my mate said they employ ex-couriers. there are enough filthy rich people and business men in london to keep this service going
It has been fairly steady fro 10 years about 10/20 bikes spread over at least 4 firms the biggish being Virgin
The riders are all Advanced trained either IAM Rospa or ex police riders
The seems to be enough people willing to pay the not cheap prices! in fact at busy times you will not get a bike
There are Bike taxies in several European cities and I think there are some in other parts of the UK
The Olympics looks like being very busy with the various firms looking to get extra bikes and riders
I may even be closing my workshop for the Olympics to provide an additional rider !
