Well I’m now a statistic!
My bike was stolen from outside my work in Southwark. I heard the alarm but was in a meeting. CCTV footage showed the white cloned number plate van reverse near the bike and in it went.
This was next to the security office which has floor to ceiling windows!! They said as there has been people working in the area and thought nothing of vans pulling up here!!! Feckin sleeping where they…
So I am now on the list of my 1st big big is gone, 200 of this colour scheme in the country and only 3300 on the clock since 1st March 08 when I picked her up!
So in a vain attempt to share my anger, disbelief and my Reg LG08 GRX.
If you can leave you bike in a secure place do it. Don’t risk the pain and sadness I’m feeling right now!
bloody hell mate not good, what the f**k were the security guys doing ? just cos work going on in area no need for such a slackarsed attitude !! lets hope someone spots it around and you get it back, I take it you aint got tracker on it ?
You never know, sometimes the Police catch the thieves earlier enough and you get your bike back, or maybe they stole your bike with others and one of the others has a Tracker.
It does happen…And it does bite the c*nt in the arse.
Little consolation now, but when you buy your next bike, especially one as nice as the Gixxer, fit a Tracker before any other mods.
Gutted for you… I’ll keep an eye out… I think this is the 2nd one in a fortnight from the Southwark area mentioned on this forum. What was the registration number of the van?
i was outside work having a smoke last week, a large white van pulled up and sat on double yellows near my bike, i noted the reg and watched them pull away some 15minutes later, teh characters in the front did look shady(call it street instinct), 3 young black guys, they had no reason to stop where the was from what i could see of, i’ll keep my eyes peeled for your bike mate, hope you get it back in one piece cos its a right looker.

As others have said, post the reg of the van and we can all keep an eye out and contact the bill if it’s spotted. There’s enough of us out there to do a good job!!
Sorry to hear about this mate. This is happening a lot at the moment - my brother-in-law had his bike lifted a couple of months ago outside his work. I hope the old bill are on the case regarding white vans pulling up and nicking our bikes
If you have the cloned reg number tell us and will keep eyes peeled next few days.
Does the CCTV footage have their faces? What did the police say? I hope they’re a bit more supportive than when mine got stolen (mine “wasn’t worth it”, apparently, but the value of yours is much higher).
Thanks people for your kind words. I really am fuming at the situation. Hearing a alarm but not running outside, is any meeting worth loosing your pride and joy for?
The van is a new white Ford transit panel van. It has cloned plates which are EJ56 XFD. I watched on the CCTV 3 men in there 30s, white guys do the job. It was so quick and surrounded by our offices, these people really knew what they were doing and most probably local.
Thanks for keeping your eyes out for it and my bike. I am slowly having to come to terms in a more Buddhist stance that it is only a material object that should not be converted, also that I will not see it again. But F@£k me that’s tough when I have only just gone for a proper ride last night down to Winchester and back…
Ok well the lesson for today is… If you want to keep it lock it up where you can see, touch or sleep with it.
