Bike corrosion treatment

Hi,

Our website http://www.allyearbiker.co.uk/ has received a lot of hits from this forum following a post that was made on the board a little while ago:-

http://londonbikers.com/forums/shwmessage.aspx?topicid=320213&forumid=35&pageindex=1

I wanted to thank you for your interest. It suggests that a few people are interested in the treatment so I’ve dropped in to let you know that we’ve been invited to arrange a Venue in the next couple of weeks in the South Mimms area north of London. There will be a limited number of places available for anyone who’s interested. Once again we will be having a mobile motorbike mechanic coming to the event, so anyone wanting service work or minor repairs doing can take advantage.

For those that have ridden through the winter months it’s an opportunity to have the bike thoroughly washed and cleaned to remove any residual road salt and have it pressure sprayed with ACF50 to combat any corrosion that might be there. If your bringing it out of storage, again it’s an opportunity to have it treated to protect it during the coming months; it’s not just road salt that causes corrosion.

I’m not going to plug the service on here, there’s plenty of information on the treatment process on the website and this page let’s you see what people thing of it and the Venues,

I don’t want to be thought as spamming the board, and hope I’m not breaking any rules, this is simply to let you know about the forthcoming venue and find out if anyone is interested in attending so we can arrange numbers and dates. I’ll look in on this post to answer any questions you have.

Thanks

Hi Slick,

I might be interested, especially since I live 15mins away from South Mimms/M25 junction. Can you specify which day/date you will be there?

Thanks

Just trying to sort it all out at the minute but it’s looking like sometime towards the end of April. At this point I’m not looking for bookings but to see what numbers would be interested so we can gauge what size venue and facilities we would need.

These venues tend to take place on a Sat or Sun so people generally don’t have to take time off work. We also allocate time slots so you don’t have to hang around all day if you don’t want to.

Thanks, that works for me.

When you get a definite date, I should be able to attend.

Please post the date, when you have it.

Will do

First. Absolute disclaimer from any connection to this stuff. Except…

My son managed to treat the fasteners on only one side of his bike (06 Bandit) a couple of weeks ago before being defeated by the light.

Today, those fasteners still look very good while the cleaned, but untreated, side have all gone very fuzzy again. Seems to work, at least in the short term.

(I wonder if this stuff will get an Aprilia through an English winter?)

It really is quite amazing how much of a difference it makes… I’ll try and get a coupe of pictures up tomorow!

Add me to the list, i would be very interested in getting my bike done

Ok, long story short, the South Mimms place is going to end up as a private job so fraid I can’t offer any places. We have managed to get a hosting at Much Hadham which is a few miles north of London but still an easy ride. Looking at the bookings already in for this I’d say the date will prob be 19th April

There are several more venues posted on the site and I’ve changed the booking system a little to try and make booking dates a little easier. Have a look see if anywhere would work for you: http://www.allyearbiker.co.uk/Bike_Protection/Booking.html

On some of these venues we’ll have a bike mechanic attending with a mobile workshop, so if anyone wants a quick service/repair job or parts fitting I’ll put you in touch so you can get some prices. He is good and reasonably priced.

Looking around at the minute for a venue south of London, so if anyone cares to offer? the host gets quite a hefty discount for providing the facilities.

You could always do an ad hoc short presentation at Borough Market on a Wednesday evening.
