Here’s a quick poll to get peoples opinion on how bikes are sold through classified ads, i.e. from popular services like Bike Trader, MCN, etc. We’re getting quite a few classified ads now for bikes on the forums and we’re looking into having a dedicated service for this, which would make the moderators lives a lot easier!
Also, what do you like, or dislike about classified bike adverts? Could it be done better? Could it be made safer? How would you improve classified ads?
Bought mine on Biker Trader, though I tried many of the buyers that were not traders, the only ones that returned my calls were the traders!
I found my bike on MCN 
got my bike after seeing Ad in MCN for DK’s in stoke, all went well
Only bought new once, never again!
Every other bike has been thro’ classifieds or E-bay. No bother.
Need to know what you looking at (yes, it’s a motorbike, but which model, what problems does this bike experience, any bits missing, or added etc), how to identify problems and potential costs,
most important, learn to haggle!
At least there safe on here cos they never get put up!

Funny man. If you want to donate your spare time to help the mod team get through all the moderation tasks they have, I’m sure they’d love to hear from you

wot i meant by my comment was it can takes weeks b4 the ad gets put up and thats when i try to remind em too, lol.

Bought the my previous bike from ebay, before that either new or from known friends (or friends of friends).
Would I buy from you lot having read the posts?
Got my first bike on gumtree a couple of days after passing my DAS - one of the school’s instructors came with me to check it over (that’s Scotland for you! :P)
I sold my R6 through Bike Trader - first person to see it took it. Got loads of calls too via that and MCN.
Bought most of my bikes via classifieds - both private and dealer. Always been good experience. I think it would be brilliant if LB site set up a classified ads section, I’ve got loads of crap to sell but can’t do ebay
