Bike Accident Repair - SW London - Anyone that can collect?

Hello all. I’m after a bit of help, after a burly moped rider decided to use my SV650 as a brake, after he swerved straight into me to avoid a taxi driver :angry: . The taxi driver didn’t even stop to check we were ok, although thats being dealt with by the Police.

Anyhow, the bike is unrideable at the moment, as the brake pedal has snapped off from where I hit the deck, and its struggling to change gear, possibly where the numpty rode into me.

I’ve spoken to my insurance company, and its looking like i’ll have to get quotes to fix the damage from various garages, which is easier said than done. Are there any reputable garages that will be able to collect the bike or visit me to arrange a quote for the repair? I’m just south of Clapham, but obviously anyone that can do it will be appreciated.

The list of damage is as follows. Its not terminal, but we all know what insurance companies are like. Its a 2002 Suzuki SV650S

Front upper fairing is scratched
Lower fairing - cracked and scratched
Sear cowl is scratched
Brake lever bent and scratched
Brake pedal is snapped
Footrest mount is bent
Can is scratched and dented
Crash bung is ruined
Engine cover is scratched and gouged
Indicators snapped
Mirror scratched.

This is the damage that i’ve been able to see without examining it properly, and there could be other damage which i’ve not been able to find by riding it.

I’d also like the names of some decent companies that can fix the fairings, and paint the bike.

Dafne, I’m very sorry to hear of your off, but welcome to LB. I hope you weren’t injured.

I’m no insurance expert but it sounds to me like the scooter rider’s insurer should pay for your damage as he was the one who actually hit you, regardless of the reason why, and it would be up to them to seek recompense from the taxi driver assuming they manage to trace him.

Did you get his and a witness’ details?

Seems odd also the insurer leaving you to do the donkeywork. I suggest you give Rider Support Services a ring.

Infinity clapham will collect and do an estimate sounds like a possible write off dude sorry but youll be able to buy back and repair with the cash.

Yeah, I was aware that i’d be claiming off the scooter rider and that he could claim off the taxi. Fortunately, I did get his and a witnesses details as well. I’m more annoyed at the fact that a cyclist caught him and told him what he’d done, but he still didn’t stop.

Anyhow, i’ve spoken to the insurance company again this morning and they’re going to be sorting out a replacement bike and getting it collected for repair.
