On Saturday 24th October, Bedfordshire Highways, in partnership with the Local Authority, is holding its annual Safety Route Assessment Ride Out.
This year we they are looking at the B660 in the North of the County.
Bedfordshire Highways invite motorcyclists to take part in a Route Assessment on the B660 between Cleat Hill, Bedford and the County Boundary in Pertenhall, a length of approx 15.5Km/9.5 miles.
This route was subject to a Route Safety Scheme back in 2002, due to the high volume of single vehicle motorcycle collisions. As a result, a number of Road Safety measures were implemented in a successful attempt to reduce motorcycle casualties.
The objective of this ride is to collect feedback from riders as to whether these improvements have stood the test of time, from a motorcyclist’s perspective, and to highlight any other safety issues that may have arisen since implementation.
Details of the start point location are to be found on
Although it’s out of most peoples immediate area, it would be good if some of you out there who maybe live a little closer to Bedford could lend thier support.
Come along and help to make a difference.
Thanks
