Thankfully, a BT engineer & anNHS worker caught them red handed, and asked them what they were up to?.
I don’t know the full details, butthey left the bike, jumped back into the van and drove off.
I was at work, when the BT guy comein and enquired as to who owned the gsxr.
They phoned the police, and are now’apparently’, looking for the van. (and pigs might fly).
Wow, looks like a close shave. Thats the first time I’ve read about someone actually intervening, good to know not everyone is selfish and uncaring in London.
Reg plate doesn’t show up on askmid unsurprisingly.
Hope the cops get off their ass and do something.
Too bloody close for my liking! - It was parked in the bike parking bays & I usually have a old tatty bike cover over it, but forgot it today! Typical.
It is now chained to a lampost (away from the original location), as I know they’ll be back to try it again!
good on those guys. instead of a tatty cover, why not get a tatty bike? this might of just been the wake up call for leaving an r1 about in the city. :pinch:
not having a go mate. it isnt fair. you’re right. It’s just that there are opportunists about. If you ride the vtr in and only used the gixxer a couple times then it shows how bad it really is. :crying:
crikey, glad you got it still. A cover does do wonders imo, they drive around looking for an easy opportunity. Next time, leave a note on your bike saying there is a spanking gsxr1000 not far from there without even a disc lock on. Still do not to this day know how that hasn’t been stolen.
cheers for the heads up though, I am not far from there and always get there early on Fridays so I can park next to the lampost, will make sure this friday
“Ill probably now stick a note on my bike saying there is a red cbr600f, quite unique, mostly parked between two cars and chained to something, but if he cant fit in, its easy pickings! Southall area. So please dont take mine Mr Theif”
bloody hell that’s close. I’ve got my work car park you might want to use in the mean time (pm me if interested) depending what end of tottenham court road you are…
clearly he isn’t actually going to do it is he… now, STEP DOWN FROM YOUR HORSE, you know, the high one.
And you, of all people would reply to a guy that came on here saying “my brand new gixxer thou has just been robbed from W1, that wasn’t locked” with zero sympathy what so ever!
I jumped down, it was too high to step. Just thought it was a cuntish thing to say. It kind of shows what you really think but someitmes too shy to type it.
that last bit…what are you talking about? I would have sympathy to anyone bikes beig stolen, whether or not locked or had the keys in it.
