@TimR. You are right. Back in the early 80’s Aston produced a Kawasaki GTR1000 engine bike.
It was sweet and handled better than anything in its class for the time.
It was designed a specific Police bike, but it cost something like 3 times more than we were paying for our Beemers at the time and the cost could not be justified.
I always thought it a shame that they never went into production as I am sure there would have been a few rich riders, so fingers crossed they get this one right and make it affordable
