Armour for Draggin' Jeans

As anyone got any recommendations for knee and hip armour for Draggin Jeans?

Watcha Kev,

try this link http://www.forcefieldbodyarmour.co.uk/product_selector.asp

I’ve bought numerous items from them so far, and I’ve only heard good things about them. You might want to invest in the Pro Pants, as they are the best value for money. They cover everything from the waist down, including pads for the knee’s, thighs, hips, butocks and coccix.:D:cool:

Hope it’s of use,

RR:D

Oi oi Kevsta luvvie:Dif you can find some knee armour i can do the pockets for them like we chatted about i can do the hip’s with some smashing foam that ive got hold of  good 1cm thick if i double it up and stitch them in will work a treat:D

I got some knee armout with my Draggin cargo pants. I think it’s by Knox, it sticks in the pants with velcro. It’s not the most comfortable though as it seems to move about a bit.

+1

Got the knee and hip armour from Knox, had to get Draggin’ to stitch the hip pockets in because they had forgotten to tell me it was done by request only…
Knee armour held on with velcro, but does move a bit and also got the Air-X stuff, which is probably a little too stiff for the jeans:

Knox Air-X

Bohn Armored shorts or long underpants. An entire set of armor products. Your *rse look like a gunny sack holding a blimp fight. But it works.

When I’ve got the spare change, I’m going to invest in some Draggin’ Liners. Then I’ll get pockets for some Hiprotec armour sewn into my fave jeans which will become a pair of summer biking trousers!

The Hiprotec armour is very flexible and apparently offers very good protection. I’ve not needed to use it so far! (wood being touched)

Got the hip pockets in me draggin’s, also got Knox warrior upper body system, Knox elbow and knee guards, and football shin pads…none of it moves about

Just wish I had it on when I broke me collar bone

Do you use the Pro Pants as well as Draggin’ Jeans or instead of them (and with regular trousers)?

hiprotech armour is far better than the knox stuff.

the velcro in knox is okay but shifts around too much and when off the bike they slip too far and become uncomfortable, but then i wear baggier dragginz, sometimes.

bump

had a pair of draggin jeans (traffic) for a week or so and i am very happy with them
bought the knox velcro knee pads at the same time = bag 'o shte, they move around too much and on my lanky legs only one set of the velcro pads can be attached to the kevlar making the situation worse still and uncomfortable to walk in them

i am ordering some forcefield knee/shin pads and later on, when i can afford them, the action shorts as i am very happy with the back protector i bought from them and the shorts fit well under the jeans when i tried a pair on recently (but damn are they expensive!)

what did you plump for in the end then kev?

I’ve got hiprotec in my Hood jeans, though i’ve just velcro’ed them in using some stick backed velcro from Woolies. They’re great. Testament to that is that I keep putting them back in the jeans after I wash them. They’re very comfy.

I should really sew them in but I might get another pair of Hoods and I don’t want to splash out twice on armour - though I did get this set for only £12 on ebay as they’re slight seconds!

I had velcro strips sewn into the inside of my draggin jeans and onto some forcefield t-pro armour. It’s good stuff but way, way too heavy for that sort of application so I took it out.

Would love to get some of the thin nobbly hiprotec stuff put in but I reckon it would have to go between the denim & kevlar to reduce sweaty rubber-on-skin (ooh-err) discomfort. That would involve a lot of unstitching & re-stitching which is why I haven’t done it!

Yeah the Hoods normally put the armour between the two layers unlike the Draggins, therefore no sewing as there’s a pocket formed there anyway. It also means you don’t knock the armour off when putting the jeans on too which is a plus.

def going to try the strap on forcefield knee pads, cant beat that style of pad for good protection at all times

only hassle is having to put em on/off all the time and getting too hot, still it aint too bad when you get a bit of speed up

brought the draggin’s about 6 weeks ago, been using forcefield knee tubes for amour. still good in hot weather and they don’t move around too much regardless how much ground you cover. good enough i was able to go for 150 miles on the hornet before have to stop and adjust.

Well I have Forcefield insert upgrades for both knee and hip on order from Infinity. Once they arrive I shall be heading over to the Wacky Leather Workshop to have some pockets sewn in.

Sammie you have another customer coming soon…

Not too difficult

You offering…?!

I have the Knox knee armor for my draggin jeans but I find that there is not enough room for them to fit in comfortably!!
