Tomorrow morning, my neighbour and I plan to head down to Bike1066 in Hastings. We intend to leave the Ace around 9am and Box Hill (Ryka’s Cafe) at 10am, winding on down to Hastings. If anyone wants to come along you’re more than welcome, please post up here
Bike1066 is a big bike show by the seaside: http://bike1066.com/spring_opener.htm
The weather is supposed to be quite nice until late afternoon, we’ll be gone before it starts raining…

Bah, no-one? Gonna be a fun day out, bike show so cheap stuff from vendors wanting to offload it, good weather…
Interesting…not sure I can wake up on time, PM me your number Simon I’ll try to meet you at box. Which way you were planning to go down?
Not sure yet, will see in the morning :-). PM sent.
Can 125’s come? Baby Vara with not that much experience?
Sure, why not. Where do you want to meet, ace or rykas?
Fun ride, over 200 miles, only about 15 miles of it in any kind of rain, and even that wasn’t heavy, apart from that it was a sunny visit to the beach!

There was some cheap gear on offer there …
Gloves from £5, crash helmets from £10, large leather tool rolls from £12, leather panniers from £50, I was not tempted to bling the Bonne’.
I went via a deserted High Beech tea hut, an equally deserted Blackheath tea hut (and where are the surface to air missile launchers?). Then via a very crowded Locksbottom, must have been 500+ bikes loitering at 9.30 am. I didn’t hang around, onward to Hastings at a leisurely pace to avoid any unwanted attention. A little saunter up and down the sea front, a gander at the 1000’s of bikes before heading off home for tea. 180 miles all good and mostly dry.
