Anyone know........?

Apart from autosol, the best thing to get your wheels shining again? Ive had my wheels done from black to ali and blue to match my bike, as some already know…but im finding it a real pain keeping them shiny as they were when i first had them on the bike? They look “grainy” in places, if you get what i mean, and unless i take them off the bike and have them polished professionally i cant see how i can keep them looking good myself? The autosol is not doing the job im afraid, no matter how long i spend polishing them up?

When i see these custom bikes all nice and gleaming with the chrome sparkling, thats how i want my wheels to look again, maybe i should go and ask them how they do it…M9 did my wheels and he suggested using the autosol from now on, and believe me, i go through tubes of it, but ive still got that “pitted” look…(dont go saying they werent done properly cos others have had same done to their bikes with no problems so its not that)…and its not that im not putting enough “elbow grease” into it either…:w00t:

Is there anything else out there on the market that you know of?

Alu is pretty good, not to harsh on your thumbs too.

I use this on my kit car http://englishcustompolishing.com

The restorer is good for bringing a corroded part back to a dull shine, the general purpose then on top of that to get a pretty good finish. They also do a showmans polish which I’ve never used but you might like to try if you want that sparkling finish.

To be honest, I’ve used various polishes and the only thing that worked really well every time was elbow grease ! :w00t: Can you try a polishing wheel in a fast drill ? That will be easier than using the elbow

I always use Autoglym super resin polish on top of anything polished as it corrodes so easily, it’s not a speciffic ali polish but does slow down the corrosion.

Best thing is to have em powdercoated instead of silly polish;):P:D

Autosol and ELBOW GREASE :stuck_out_tongue:

+1

Told ya, i dont think ive got enough of that elbow grease !! cos it dont bring out the tainted bits properly?..

I just clean the cr*p off with some WD40, then leave them to get all dirty again. It’s the circle of life for a wheel! :stuck_out_tongue:

WELL I AM SURE SOMEBODY COULD HELP YOU BLADE.

MAY EVEN OFFER MY SERVICES IF YOU ARE LUCK;)

Sorry, am I missing something here?

I thought you bought the things, rode them, enjoyed them, gave them a wash down and some oily TLC when you could and then rode them again.

If I’d known they were like frigging spaniels that needed daily grooming, polishing and their egos buffing, I’d never have started this affair.

A dremel and polishing attachment - saves on elbow grease

(oh and the shiny chrome on cruisers… it’s not all chrome, the sneaky Jap manufacturers have replaced some of it with supershiny plastic  )

This is the stuff they swear by in the states, but too pricey to ship the odd can over here to the UK. If there was enough interest we could buy a box between a few of us and save on shipping

Yeah ok we don’t want to know that…what about your wheels:D:P

you should only use autosol when first shining em up (coarser) then use autoglym to keep em shiny (smoother)

Err, yeh, them n all
