I am thinking of buying one mainly for browsing the net when on the move. Any one got any feed back
Yeah, don’t bother. That’s like buying a horse-drawn car for going to the shops. It may do the job, but it’s not the best out there.
For browsing the web, you need a fast conneciton, and the iPhone doesn’t have 3G, so is about as fast as a snail. Perhaps look at the Nokia range instead. They know what they’re doing, they’ve been doing it long enough.
Browsing on the move… still pain in the ar$e when using phone. My SE has Opera browser, it’s pretty fast when I turn off pictures but still it’s just 320x240 screen…
I still have trouble using the house phone.
I agree with jay, the i-phone got beaten comprehensively by the N95 when tested on telly, Ive got N73 and can browse web but screen bit small compared to N95 but it has got better satnav than N95, plus they a lot cheaper and your NOT tied to one company.
There’s a couple at work which I’ve had a play with and tbh I wouldn’t bother, the net connection is too slow, that and you get locked into a rather long (and expensive) contract.
They are quite nifty things to use though and when a 3G version comes out I might reconsider (rumored around March).
i checked it out @ the apple store in brent cross shopping centre (maybe go there to check it over).
it ain’t all that. big, slow, the hype doesn’t match it’s performance!.
i would wait on-like maybe a year even.
not my kind of phone though.
the sony ericsson k850i is better.
Wow - on the TV advert it looks better than my office computer for browsing the net - just goes to show, don’t believe the hype!
I bet the fuctionality is in the current gen phone…Apple just forgot to turn it on :Whistling:
Go for the N95!! Sarah has one and I am waiting to pinch it off of her! It can connect via GPRS, GSM, 3G and WiFi which means if you have wireless at home, you can be on the toilet browsing the net or in bed on MSN! :D:D
I do love the phone and yes Gary you can have my phone once i get my upgrade.
Never know what the birthday bunny will bring…lol.
Go with the N95.
Camera is brilliant, Hold’s alot of music. Can not recommend the phone enough.

as said befeore, iphone is a great concept but give it time, maybe 2nd or 3rd generation. look at the ipod, the first few gens had a few probs but theyve sorted it out now.
they dont wanna give you everything straight away, bit by bit so they make there money…
got the k8501, great phone, 5mp camera too.
I got an iPhone about 3 weeks ago and love it. Very handy for browsing the web whilst sat on the bog at work and posting to this forum when I should be at my desk
