So is their any old dispatch riders on here as i was a long time central london courier started way back just after the fax was invented until 2003 but moved away now from london and lost touch with a few old cracked pots i knew

Trying to think off the top of my head which firms he worked for: City Link when they had the bikes and trailers, Ambassador, … (I’ll edit when he comes in)
Worked (very briefly) for Mercury Despatch in late 1976, riding one of their orange GT250’s. Hung out around finsbury Square/Finsbury pavement when I had a chance. It was just after the postal strike and compnies were please with the service they got fom the Courier companies that grew from the GPO strike. I remember always being busy, but can’t recall that the pay was great.
Hubby (Ian) worked for Barton Couriers briefly in Hertford in the 80’s/90’s cant exactly remember, and our old friend known as Jaffa/Mark also worked with them along with Mercury Despatch (and many other companes) in the late 80’s into the 90’s.
CSL now i think i may recall that place not sure
but the best person to ask is Tony who runs the cafe as they know everyone around their for the last 40 odd years
i worked vans in the early 80s along with 1doohan for a company called fastway flyers, also worked for vangaurd, mercury dispatch, adc, wheels, tst, cant remember the rest
