Any LB'ers Anglers?

i used to fish did it for about 3-4 years, but them women, sex and booze got in the way…

Would love to get back into it, but with 2 kids finding the time is not easy I must say…

but if you ever need a fishing partner for the day give me a bell

a 12lb trout or salmon is a good fish mate:) you fly-fish?

i have a fly rod/reel etc, never used it!:w00t:

You should be fly fishing for pike, top sport.

Yeah mate, fly fish. 12lb 2oz was the biggest so far, for a Rainbow - Brother-in-law had an 11lb brown.

Pike on the fly is awesome!

i often have time out sleeper, i always go back to it:) i may well give you a shout fella.

yeah i was thinking about pike on the fly, i lure fish quite a bit wich is similar, i can cast fly’s tho! well never tried!

i wanted to try for chub on the fly too. rainbows fight well, my mate had a 5lb er on a big lure intend for pike, that went loopy!!

Always fishing.

Been flyfishing since I was a youngster. Fish mainly rivers and sea, travel all over the place in search of fish. This year I have been fishing to Florida, Cape Cod, US (twice), Ireland, Spain and countless times in the UK. I often fly fish from a kayak on the sea and have some good bass this year on the fly.

Over the years I have fished overseas in, India, Sweden, Norway (too many times to remember), Denmark, Sri Lanka, Gambia, Canada, France and the following states in the US; Utah, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Florida, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York and Massachusetts.

I try and get in three or four fishing trips abroad a year. So far in '08 I’m off to the Florida Keys in January and Australia in April. Through the winter I target grayling and other course species on the fly in the UK.

So yeah; I’m a biker who fishes and I know of a few more.

Few fishy pics from this year here http://www.flickr.com/photos/jamiercgriff

i love the carp fishing

wow! you are a dedicated fly angler! bass are a fantastic sea predator, a freid of mine got right into them, but couldnt manage a double, 9+ the biggest.

i have only ever fished abroad once, in france fishing for carp and catfish.

i am half irish, and i would love to go to ireland and fish teh big loughs for pike, and the rivers, too be sorta like going home! lol. holland has a fantastic predator scene, lots of big pike and zander, main method over there is lures too, i’d like to try for muskie in the states on day too, again lure fishing!

over here i adore the rivers, the hampshire avon is my fave, love that river:D i fished the itchen once for grayling-fantastic fish- for the size they fight like tigers! and look amazing, teh lady of teh stream! caught mine on trotting tactics.i also love the solitude of the fens.

so what are targetting in the keys? tell me its tarpon…:w00t:

oh nice pics by the way:)

cant see teh pic too well, but its looks a good’un!

Hey Ratty46, the fishing in Ireland is awesome. They legislate well for recreational fishermen and look after the stocks both natural and introduced. Wish they were the same here.

I fish the Hampshire Avon sometimes, it’s a beautiful river. Occasionally flyfish for pike in the Thames and have had the occasional nice fish, but bait is by far the more effective method there. Some of the best pike fishing on the fly has been in Sweden, float-tubing in the Baltic with some Danish and Swedish friends, one of whom is a journo for a Scandinavian fly fishing mag and wrote up a big piece about my adventures there, and sent me a copy of the mag. The pike there are beautiful with their lemon yellow colouring.

It’s too early in the season for the tarpon in Florida, there may be the odd one hanging about. I’ll be trying for the bonefish and barracuda, but what I would really love to do is catch a permit on the fly. I’ve had a few shots at permit in the past, but they are very canny fish and were not fooled.

dont get much time to fish anymore but it nearly caused the wife to leave… I was shift work so i could fish when other were working, sadly no more im now monday to friday.

Here a few of the ones i bag a few years back now

yeah ireland is somewhere i must fish!

yeah the hants avon is fantastic place, i will be going in january, most likely i will be bait fishing, using a mix of lives and deads, lives are deadly there tho…i might take my lure gear tho, may get a chance to throw a few.

i fished the thames twice at chertsy, once in summer from a boat, the water was crystal clear, i have never had so many follows from pike, i must have had up to 10 follows that day, on a good fish, easily a mid double, they just wouldnt take! another time in flood again from a boat, that was hard work!

baltic pike are another matter…that place holds monsters!..herring fed monsters!:w00t: you lucky sod getting to fish that, teh pike are beautiful there i know what you mean by the colouring and markings;) float tubing is something i’d liek to try on a few quite gravel pits i know:D

barracuda, now i would love to catch one of them! yeah i’ve seen matty hayes trying to catch permit, very wary fish, liek a chub! bonefish go like steamtrains too! well if you get lucky you may bag a tarpon, fight of all fights im told!

cracking carp ron!especially teh common, i love dark commons, some are so dark they look wooden! bootiful!what they weigh fella?i know a few anglers that have had marriges break up as a result of fishing, its no joke, you can spend a long time on the bank in pursuit of fish!

top one went 44lbs and the english common 40lb 12oz sadly it no longer lives…not sure about the other one as it was caught in France

Nice carp, my pb carp is a 20lber on a 3 weight fly rod.

nice one ron! apair of forties! 40+ commons are very special…especially english ones:D

my PB is 25+, common from france.

talking of carp on fly rods…w’stow ressy’s has a trout ressy, it holds some monster carp, teh trout boys often hook up to carp but dont land them;)

biggest i have heard is 28, but someone told me 30+ have been caught on flys!
