anti fog solution please help.

Hi all,

I was riding back home from work this morning and the visor was so fogged up and I can’t see a thing and I needed put over before I crash. I have a cheapish helmet for daily work use, there’s no pinlock insert so I need some recommendation on a universal anti fog insert or very very very good anti fog spray please.

I have looked into oxford anti fog insert but the reviews seems to be hit and miss, any good/better alternatives?

Cheers guys.

Shaving foam or washing up liquid, apply a TINY amount to a clean dry cloth and rub it in until its even.
You will have to re apply every so often depending on use etc.

But it works and its cheap!
(there are other things you can use too, but I can remember them)
This trick also works on your bathroom mirror/window etc to stop it steaming up.

Muck off do a fairly good spray if you are less of a tight arse that daws.

sorry for my stupidness but you know visors open.

i hate visors rain or shine i would rather have it open i only shut it at high speeds

I do open a bit but it doesn’t help and I can’t have it open fully because i wear glasses.

Im not made of £££

Atleast you know what to buy me for Christmas…

I use the washing liquid approach myself but only when I don’t have a pin lock inside the visor.

Mr Sheen

How about a fog mask for the helmet? like this http://www.amazon.co.uk/Respro-Foggy-Mask-Black-Universal/dp/B000RQPQCO/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1384807153&sr=8-2&keywords=fog+mask

Stops my visor (with pinlock) and my glasses from fogging up.

GREAT idea! I think this could be it. Any user comments on this product?

Cheers

I think you can get Pinlock kits to fit them to non-Pinlock visors.

Just out of interest, has anyone tried the SCUBA diving technique of spitting in your visor/mask and rubbing it around?? Might work.

those masks are proper sweaty, but I guess if its very cold out, they could end up keeping you quite warm, messy if you have a cold though.

not tried the spitty thing, got a pinlock.

Wipe yer visor on a vagina

I’ve got a pinlock & it’s great - I used to have a fog city insert (stuck straight to the inside of the visor) before that and I think that was pretty good too but if you wear specs you’ll find they steam up instead of the visor.

I’ve found this stuff pretty good for fogproofing visor & glasses although I much prefer contact lenses when I’m on the bike anyway. http://www.v2mal.com/fogtech/product/288

it wont work as visors are made of plastic, scuba diving masks are made of glass. they also wipe them with raw potatoes.

Jaime’s vagina approach i doubt would be effective, but would probably be much more fun.

I use Muc -Off - works a treat on my glasses and visor, but like people have said though, it’s expensive.

Apparently this works really well - my boyfriend uses it on his race helmet and has no problems what so ever and cheaper than Muc-Off - Rain-X

Another thing I found was the little nose protector thingy in the front of my helmet really made the my helmet visor and glasses fog up to no end, got rid of it and it’s so much better now!

Your obviously not riding quick enough…

buy a shark, they’re so draughty that I don’t get fogging problems

^^^ +1 to that. Bloody draughty!

Fog City are great if you can still get them but don’t bother with the alternative makes, they are rubbish.
