Another sense of humour failure

OK so this is not specifically motorbike related, but I got my Car Insurance renewal this evening, it’s gone from £850 to £1850! All thanks to the cyclist that was undertaking traffic in the gutter, I couldn’t see him and he clearly couldn’t see me given that he hit the front of the car! … I emphasise he hit me!!! Of course being a cyclist none of it is his problem, so I’ll just have to live with the consequences of his PI claim

Thank god my bike policy has guaranteed NCB… they should all be made to have 3rd party insurance, then we’d be having a different discussion!

That sucks the big one, dude. Sorry to hear that. :frowning:

Whacking it up by £1,000 is completely OTT.

Don’t think your bike insurance won’t be affected. The NCB might be protected, but you will still have to declare the car claim and they will still weight your bike policy for the claim.

I presume you have written to your MP about the injustice of you having to bear the costs of an uninsured cyclist’s actions? Ask why if cyclists are not required to be insured there is no group insurance funded by a levy on bicycle sales or lycra or suchlike?

Nice one Giuliano.

Love the idea of a Lycra levy to build an insurance fund, but surely the gymnasts and dancers will complain?

More seriously, I think it’s high time that cyclists had to have third party insurance. Or do they already have that?

My household policy policy gives me £1mill (might be more, not checked for years) cover for third party claims against me. The limitations are, I paraphrase a bit, “Don’t be stupid/not own vehicle related”.

If you have the cyclists ID, have you thought about starting a small claims court action against him/her? It’s pretty easy and for a grand, plus what they screw you for on the bike, the cost is trivial.

About time fecking cyclists had to have license’s to use the road and pay tax grrrrrrrrrrr…

step away from the soap box…

1K price hike :w00t: pi$$ taking mofos :w00t:

it would be good if they were made to read the highway code and made to observe it. how the hell did he hit you??? was he blind?

just yesteday i witnessed a cyclist doing the craziest thing…

she was undertaking stationary traffic at speed when she tried to cut in front of a van driver, the van had started to move decreasing the gap between him and the lorry in front, she tried to get through in front of th van, but mistimed her cuting in resulting in her havin to slam on the brakes…she then cycled ahead as the traffc started to flow…hopped off her bike and then threw it under the van:w00t:

when police got there she started crying an wailing saying how he tried to kill her and all sort of bol locks, lucklity this happned right in front of the tescos on the old kent road so there was plenty of witneses, worse thing about it is she just fecked up her bike for nothing…bet she felit like a prize tw*t lol
can u imagine wat woulda happened to his insurance/licence/freedom if it was somewhere quieter?

I would phone round and see if you can get a better quote elsewhere.

I have insured a car with NU Direct for some time - I told them that my actual milage would be 12k per year rather than 8k. For this they wanted an extra £300. I phoned Direct line and got an indentical policy (covering 12k) for less than my original quote from NU - saving £400.

and COMPULSORY INSURANCE!!! I’d also introduce a colour blindness test too - loads of them seem to get Red confused with Green?:w00t:

1K hike is stupid, call around.

Like the idea of taking them to small claims court though!!
