Ally Pally

We’re going Friday. Fancy saying hello there???

Will pm you our number and we can meet up to say hello, it will be a good excuse to escape from the group of old men (Grims dad & co) we are with

Is this show realy worth it? I used to think the one at the EXCEL was good till i went this year, they seem to be getting smaller each year. Not so bothered about the size its wether its worth the money getting there and getting in. Dont seem to be such good deals at shows any more either, not like there used to be. I got a helmet from the dirtbike show in 2006 for £80 which i thought was good, didnt realise how good till my mate pointed out that they were retailing at sumat like £160+ a few weeks later when he saw the same helmet online when searching for mx gear. Im not expecting a deal that good but i am after a new lid. Dont wana ti up and find a poor selection let alone be paying the normal shop price as whats the point?

i’m hope fully going and the main reason for me going is to buy a new lid last time i went i got my lid for 220 with a dark visor and the retail was 500 plus visor:w00t:

I’d like a bit of advice here as well guys …I’m after an Arai RX7 GP lid and a two piece set of leathers as well - is it worth me going to Ally pally or should I just hit the shops for sizes and then t’internet for best prices ???

To be honest, in my opinion, you’re more likely to get the lid you want at a shop, unless you’re going to get it’s colour scheme customised for you again. I wouldn’t buy a lid on the interweb as I’m not convinced that the Royal Mail, DHL etc are going to treat it with the respect it deserves… that said I bought my last lid at Ally Pally, when it was still the MCN show, loads of money off, and as I was in my work clothes I got a GTP discount. But I did get a plain colour…

The leathers will depend entirely on whether you’re a ‘normal’ size and how fussy you are about colours and different makes/models. If you go with an open mind you might find a bargain, but if you’ll only have a matching set of Alpine Ness Dianese blue & white leathers with the St Andrews Cross on the back & with thistles on both arms you’re better off at some specialised shops…

As this Ally Pally show is brand new with different organisers to before it’s hard to guess what it’s going to be like.

I’m guessing that most of last seasons bargains would have been snapped up at NEC and ExCeL anyway:doze:

What day are you going Chunky?

ill be there on the 1st probably…

I was thinking of maybe going on the 1st aswell but i may have to change that now then :stuck_out_tongue: Kiding Vic, if i do go it will be on the first, try get those last minute deals  Only problems you get with that is hoping that they have your sizes :hehe:

pffft!!!:stuck_out_tongue:

ha, gona have to go now arent i just so i can give you a slap :stuck_out_tongue:

im going on sunday - on the bike  hopefully will be dry and sunny!! :stuck_out_tongue:

I’ll be in the car, one because the bikes not back on the road yet but im also after a new helmet and may get a few other bits and bobs so need the motor to put them in

Ill be there on the sunday with a friend

If your going for bargains, Sunday is best, but even better is to save your money for the BMF show in Peterborough on 16th/17th of May.

I’m sitting looking at more than £1k of gear that was bought at the BMF’s over the last couple of shows. If El Gordo and I paid out more than £300 for that lot, I’ll be surprised.

On the other hand, if you want something quite specific, the internet can be best.

Watch out for the potholes and ripples in the tarmac! The road up by Ally Pally is atrocious - I have to navigate past them each day on my way to work

Hein Gericke have an £80 off offer on all helmets over £400, which is pretty much the only discount that I’ve seen on the RX-7 GP. However it ends on Sunday or Monday.

Onthebackwheel, who posts here, is with Hein Gericke Welling, and is friendly to London Biker members, so get in touch with him.

£400 :w00t: just a little over my budget :hehe:

My Daytona heritage screen is going for only £25. Would look great no nailed to the front of a KTM.
