Does anyone know if the always open bagel shop is still there at the Bethnal Green end of Brick Lane?
They used to do a proper salt beef bagel and was a regular stop some years ago. I think it opened when the Carthaginians were touring Spain and was still going strong last time I popped by some ten years ago.
Fancy a proper salt beef bagel.

I used to work around the corner from there. Mmm tasty bagels.
Last time i had a bagel there, was about 15 years ago. (thought I was getting peckish:D)
we used to do run to there when i worked nights, its still there, theres a couple of them i think,sometimes go down there after being out on teh bikes:D

Yes its still there but you get down there from whitechapel road there road work but you can get to it from old bethnal green end. ooooh there salt beef bagl is so yummy with a bit of mustard 
The last time I went there must be about 37 years ago now.

yeah it still there…regular haunt after a night out in shoreditch!
Oooo, my dad used to work near there quite some years back, he reckons it’s the only place to get proper bagels, might have take a trip there myself, yummy
When we was hornets nest members we used to do friday night bagel runs to brick lane…you see some strange sights(odd dressed people)late at night!:w00t:
Never figured out what the bagel shop next door to BLB was there for. Bagels werent as fresh, atmosphere was pants and whilst people would be queing down the street for BLB the next door shop always remained empty. Odd business model
And I think you’ll find it’s Beigels rather than Bagels on the sign above the door 
I remember once, as a student, it was a choice of a 2am bus from Leicester Square to my halls in Bethnal Green, or armfuls of bagels from the Brick Lane place.
We walked in the end.

Hot salt beef with mustard … mmmmm! … I drop into Beigel Bake fairly regularly when I’m riding home.
My missus lives around the corner from there and its a regular late night haunt… I didnt like their salt beef, thought it was a bit mingin’… their bagels are lovely though!!
Could do a trip down there tomorrow night after the ace if anyone is about!
I occasionally pop in there for refreshments when I’m on nights… Hot salt beef and Mustard or Salmon & Cream Cheese… depending on how hungry I am:)
The bagels are lovely in the shop at the top end of brick lane and the one further down is good for cakes!:P:D
