All Blacks Haka vs Wales

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/rugby_union/7750284.stm

Did anyone else watch this match?

Good on the Welsh for standing their ground… The Haka is a provoking “war dance” and I think the best response was the Welsh just staring at them…

I’d be ******** myself with the AB’s doing the Haka in front of you, or at least I would be, but watching that makes me realise why I love rugby, such passion, such desire, such emotion!

I doubt England will do the same, they’re just going to get a shoeing :frowning:

It didn’t help the Welsh team win. Comical:D

I watched it, and loved the way that Wales wouldn’t move first.

The Haka is always impressive, and any talk of it being stopped should be treated with the comtempt it deserves.

Wales put up a good performance against a good All Blacks team - I’d wager that England will have a harder time of it tomorrow. They played well for 15 minutes against the 'boks and then got overrun.

England have absolutely no hope of winning the six nations again this year unless they improve about 200% - and that ain’t going to happen.

My money’s on Wales again this year, with Ireland runners-up.

I’m off to the match tomorrow, not full of hope for a decent performance - sadly. The most interesting bit may be the response to the haka, not expecting much there either:ermm:

I’d have to go with Wales for the six nations too…

I thought Ireland looked awful against the AB’s and I’m not confident in their backs to step up to the plate…

We are just a shadow of the team we have been in the past and even taking the world cup in france, you have to admit that we were lucky to get where we got to…

Scotland are a poor side at the minute, although I’ve got a soft spot for them as I went to uni with a few of the lads in the squad and lived with one lad in my first year…

Italy will do Scotland i think and I think france will finish second…

Enjoy the match tomorrow, i hope we put up a decent fight!!

summat you trying to tell us kelv ? ;)

Very very very powerful. Tghe editing as well, that’s one quality vision director, the building music behind it too. Very good stuff, the beeb excels at that kind of thing it really does.

Mano a mano!

I’m off to Twickenham in about 10 minutes to watch England face the same power. I have a feeling this could hurt, but I can’t WAIT to sample that atmosphere.

All I can really say is, footballers are NANCIES GIRLS by comparison.

Bring it on!

I’m not one bit jealous of you going to Twickers today Tobe:w00t:

As an avid rugby fan, I usually relish the thought of an England v NZ game but I fear we are gonna get mangled today:crazy:

Swing Low and all that;)

mangled, we were!
Good day out though, specially when I woke up on a train in a place called Weybridge… driver kicking me off with the words, “s’gonna cost you to get a cab back into London now!” followed by me taking about 4 hours to find a cab and struggle across London in search of my bed…
NEVER EVER EVER drink Stella Artois, it empties your wallet and makes you feel like crap the next day…

HAHA, sounds like a cracking day out at twickers!

Shame about the result, but at least we didnt get robbed like the aussies… i thought the referee’s decision to penalise the aussies for holding on at the end was a shocker, especailly when it meant 3 points for wales and would have meant a draw…

oh well, they are aussies and deserve it i suppose! :stuck_out_tongue:

I don’t actually see what Wales did wrong?!??!?!?

Are they supposed to stand there shuffling their feet and looking afraid?

Traditional or not, the purpose of the haka is to try and intimidate the opposition.

I understand it is what the All Blacks do…it’s their schtick…but still why shouldn’t the Welsh stand there and say “We aren’t intimidated”?

what the Haka actually says:- scary stuff!

The Words of Ka Mate
Ka mate! Ka mate! Ka ora! Ka ora!
I die! I die! I live! I live!

Ka mate! Ka mate! Ka ora! Ka ora!
I die! I die! I live! I live!

Tenei te tangata puhuru huru
This is the hairy man

Nana nei i tiki mai
Who fetched the Sun

Whakawhiti te ra
And caused it to shine again

A upa … ne! ka upa … ne!
One upward step! Another upward step!

A upane kaupane whiti te ra!
An upward step, another… the Sun shines !!!
Hi !!!

Now that’s a post worth reading.

Never knew that’s what it was all about.

I think I’m going to steal that as my personal motto… “Here’s the hairy man that made the sun shine!”
