Alarmed disk locks

This is probably the London equivalent of “which oil to buy” so I’m aware I might be just starting an argument

I want an alarmed disk lock. I’ve already got a decent lock on my sprocket, so this’ll be on the front disks and I’m much more interested in it making a load of noise (and so waking my housemate up) than being particularly strong, since my rotors are probably blot-croppable.

What’s best? I particularly want:

  • decent battery life

  • it to not go off just because someone’s looked at it funny

  • (more importantly) it to reliably go off if I sit on the bike with it still attached

  • Keyless locking would be good

Ideally I’d be able to lock it without arming the alarm, too.

And, as I say, I’m really not that concerned about it being technically strong.

Go!

I use an Abus Detecto but I cant remember the model

it works how I want it to work

cost me about £100 or so

Yeah, got the Abus Granit Detecto one as well. Was on special offer on Amazon a while ago. Is pretty decent:-

I had a Xena zz6 around 80£. Locked through the vent holes in the disk. Lock mechanism busted after 15 months. So binned it. Battery went after about 12 months.

Would I buy one again? Looking for alternative.
