AGV S4 SV

Hi All,

Thinking of upgrading my battered helmet :hehe: with something a little tastier and have come across the AGV S4 SV in white with blue stripes, which to my eyes looks the dogs.

Has anyone owned one of these or does currently own one? Could you let me know your thoughts on comfort, noise, etc.

Found one here but if anyone knows where there are some a little cheaper, I’m all ears.

Cheers guys!

Does it have a blue internal visor? That is a bit odd

And would it be as bad for your eyes as blue sunglasses?

Its italian! Style over function! cmon guys keep up :hehe:

I’ll double check for sure but it could just be the coating on it which appears blue whilst the actual effect is as per normal sunglasses, maybe with a slight tinge.

Either way it’s not a massive problem, because I might prefer to use tinted visors as opposed to this.

Got one (with the spoiler)

Nice fitting helmet, very comfy once on.

The vents make it very noisey. Ear plugs and ones that block a decent amount of sound are a must 50mph and over.

The visor mists up with the slightest cold, same for rain. Get a pinlock visor or its not useable in anything bar dry warm days.

Visor, compared to my Raid II feels a bit flimsey.

The padding doesnt like sunglasses.

Any questions just ask.

No experience of the helmet, but if you buy it from Hein Gericke by 19th June you’ll be able to get £40 off:

Their website lists it as costing £219.99 so £179.99 with voucher.

Whats your current lid?
Im personally not keen on agv’s, specially the s4sv and stealth sv.
Have you looked at and tried a hjc fg15 or rpha 10?

I bought one for the Misses at the May Day run this year from a stall (dealer/shop was located in chatham) for which I cant remember the name. I paid 109.99 as they had a 50% discount on the original price.

She wears it very regularly and she is pleased with it and it quite light and comfortable according to her. We use a Scala Teampro set. I have noticed she gets ALOT of wind noise inside her lid as the headset stays on due to the wind noise picked up with the microphone. There is a “flap” designed to keep the wind out, but is completely useless. This issue mainly boils down due to the pointy front end of the lid. Apart from that its a great value lid.

Hope my 2 pence helps.

Ive had the non sun visor version for a couple of years
its a really comfy helmet however its loud if you ride a sit up and beg style bike
I wear sunglasses a lot and have no problems also never had a fogging up problem but then I do treat my visor regularly
I got mine from racevisors.co.uk which are usually good on price but have the added bonus of giving you another visor for free

Appreciate all the feedback people, generally all quite positive.

To answer an early question, my current lid is just some cheap crap thing from J&S which I bought for Karting,

I think I’m gonna take the plunge on the S4, good reviews, looks good, noise can be dealt with with earplugs plus a 5 star SHARP rating!

Thanks again!

Sharp testing is bull crap imo. Seriously look at the hjc’s

I have one. With the spolier. I love it.

Noise: After 5mins riding I plugged the ear vents from teh inside adn 90% off the ‘not wanted’ noise has gone. Lovely helmet. Looks very cool

I like the little clips that come with it to enable you to have the visore open at different points.
