So when we had the double glazing put in we did not have cats, now we do. want to put in a cat flap it will be going into the UPVC lower part as is only half glazed.
anyone know if it is ok to cut through these? or am I going to need to get a new door with the flat fitted.
We did this last year. Mark the hole and one the inside of the mark drill pilot holes in each corner to fit a hacksaw blade then cut along the marks. Then file down till the cat flap fits.
my dad is going this atm hes removeing the glass from the lower half and is eather going to by a pannle to replace that and put the cat flap in or make a pannle from some week and use some white metal on the out side as for cat flaps it alldepends u can get ones with locks on or ones with lil magnetic things that goes on the kittehs collor or just a flap lol
Drill a single hole to fit a jigsaw blade through and cut out as required …
The plain white lower panel will be made up of a sheet of polystyrene sandwiched between two sheets of UPVC or, if you have what is described as a reinforced panel you will also have a sheet of MDF or plywood, either way a jigsaw will make very short work of it.
Well if you toss yerself off, & the cat has a choice of bushes to sleep with (? how many of them do you have for the cat to choose from?) we thing you’re doing something wrong here - usually one bush is enough for any man to sleep with at a time, isn’t it?
Our cats have microchips so they are id’d. We have a Sureflap which is brilliant as they come in and out whenever they please and no other cat can come in unless you program the cat flap to let them in. It’s not eh cheapest but it is worth it.
