Have you tried a quote for your insurance, I’m thinking that would be the way to go but a sports bike against a bandit must surely be dearer.
All the best John
It may be worth £200 more than yours but with a swap assuming it’s quick and simple he’s saving himself a huge amount of hassle. That’s often why people part exchange at dealers and make less than selling privately. Some people love selling privately and haggling on a deal etcbut having strangers turn up at your house and waste your time is not everybodys cup of tea.
I called them up yesterday and they said they wouldnt insure me as Its not in a garage, SoI told them I spoke to a nieghbour who said I can borrow his and the gave me a quote… £867 a year, exactly the same policy as my bandit, but in a garage (Even tho its only TP) and its £2 cheaper than my bandit…
The guy was a legend, he even browsed ebay with me and was telling me about other potential bikes to get etc we were just waffling on! He has also said as he is a fellow biker and just got a promotion he can wave the whole “ADMIN FEE” (£25) IM MORE THAN HAPPY WITH THAT QUOTE FOR THAT BIKE!
In regards to him painting his shed I dont care (No offence)
In regards to it being shagged, hes told me of all the problems its had since hes had it… (Mainly electrical but engine has never failed) He bought a new loom (Harness last year and its had no problems since)
He said hes coming to london (From wales at the weekend) he was going to ride it but he would rather bring the van than ride all that distance on a new bike… Plus Id get to see it cold start… he seems really genuine. HPI checks and everything seem spot on
I think i would prefer to see the bike knowing it was reliable enough an the owner was confident enough to ride that distance to be fair by the time you studied the paper work made him a coffee an had the banter an he checked your bike over im sure the bike would be cool enough .
He asked me if I would mind going for a ride with him on eachothers bikes or whatever to test them out… Obviously I have no objection to that apart from the fact of my safety and my bike in his hands.
