Exact spot was Loampit Vale, westbound, just past the roundabout with the A21, where the Lewisham DLR station is.

He wanted to palm me with £20 for a new indicator, when the front frame is bent.
It was the scariest experience of my life, and the adrenaline took forever to leave the system.
Glad you are okay. Get the police report and get onto insurance. Not on my commute route, I would have stopped if I had witnessed this and exchanged details.
WHen you hit a vehicle bigger than you, the adrenaline rush is phenomenal. It goes away many hours later, and soon after the hit, one cannot think straight, I know I couldn’t. But I did not call the police, as I thought the police in london would not even bothered unless blood was spilled, and I thought his reg number would have been enough. Saw the doctor today, and was diagnosed with whiplash, with a prognosis of 3 to 4 weeks. As for witnesses, I was looking over my photos today, and I noticed a lady at the bus stop, and may post an appeal for witnesses on that bus stop, and hope for the best.
Blimey looks like had a really lucky escape there, relatively little damage to the bike (granted, it’s got a bent frame and smashed indicator) and to you compared with what happened to the car.
I hope your whiplash gets better soon, and your bike, insurance etc gets sorted asap.
I’m not sure to do in this situation either, hasn’t happened yet, touch wood. I know you need to exchange details, and that it’s a good idea to get contacts of any witnesses, but at what point should you involve the police?

I know its not the same but similar thing happened in my car, I was hit and my boys went into shock… and know kind of how it feels with the adrenaline, although not with a bike and hope to God I dont… and many others dont either!

Hope you’re ok. I came off in heavy traffic and managed to get myself home… behind closed doors I broke and sobbed like a child… scarey and glad you’re ok.
I was in a car with my Mum and we were rear-ended by a white van man in South London… the adrenalin was scarey. Nearly dragged the idiot out of his van as but thankfully forceful polite persuasion won out… would always recommend ringing the police always!
You’re in shock in an accident its the body’s natural reaction to go into shock and go numb… therefor you can’t always be sure you’ve not done yourself or rather the IDIOT on four wheels hasn’t done you a mischief. Thats why the calm approach of the emergency services is invaluable… x

As for the Police side of things, you should definitely have called them. At the least, they would have probably gotten a traffic car out there, and then they could have dealt with the driver properley! What he did is wreckless driving at the very least!
Just heard from my insurance that the car driver is disputing liability, so I call the police traffic department to try and get my hands on the CCTV footage, only to learn that my report has been lost in the post and the police has no record.
I am so enraged that the system does not work…
