I’ve got to get to Dagenham for 3pm later today for an Opening Ceremony festival. I’m taking all my photo gear so need the car ( ) and was wondering if anyone knows what the route round the North Circular is like at the moment. Are there Olympic lanes and loads of trafic etc…? I haven’t been out in the car since the chaos began so I have no idea what to expect.
I’m going to be heading back afterwards at about 11pm but timing’s not so critical coming home.
Oh, and it’s a free event so if anyone fancies it you’re more than welcome to attend Festival Central
On Wednesday I went round the North Circular from Ace Corner to the A13. I left home at 6:45am, and got to the A13 at 8:05. This was in the Landrover, with the Bike on a trailer.
Considering it was the first day of the Olympic lanes, and high rush-hour, I don’t think that’s too bad. It was congested, but mostly moving traffic - slow moving, but moving. You’ll be going at a better time of day, so I’d say you’ll be fine.

@slipper: I’ve thought about that but I don’t want to be wandering round a field all day in my bike gear and there isn’t really anywhere to store it or change into anything more practical, so I think it has to be the car or public transport. At least if I’m stuck in the car I’m not rammed into a tube/bus like a sardine.
