A mate of mine was knocked off his bike in Oz a few years ago.
He was a total mess- 2 broken legs and have never been the same since.
The driver (who was at fault) got out of their car and continued her phone call- didn’t even check my mate to see if he was alive or not.
Some people shouldn’t be on the road.
The same type of arsehole who gets into a car drunk apparently.

Even when I was on near misses in a car, the first thing I did after pulling over for a breather would be to light one up
I agree though, this guy appears to have been drunk but let’s wait for the verdict. If he was, I hope he gets what he deserves.
You wouldn’t go over and check to see if the person who was hit was ok, or try to help?
You don’t know if anyone was on the scene telling him to stay away.
A friend of mine Killed a Motorbiker in His Petrol Tanker, the Bike went to overtake and lost it as there was a car coming the other way and went under his Lorry wheels. When my mate got out to see if he was OK/Dead the wman in the car behind told him to get back in the cab cos there’s nothing anyone could do.
It could’ve been something along those lines, Or he could’ve been in complete shock and didn’t really think he could’ve killed the guy.
But going by the report it seems he was possibly drunk so he knew what was gonna happen to him and just had to spark up a fag!
really tragic. was apparently wearing full gear but obv in this case nothing could save him

I heard it was the impact that killed him… I’m sure theres both sides to the story.
I just really feel sorry for the guys family
All I’m saying is, don’t make assumptions without being there…
If he was drunk, give him the full penalty… But to say he was drunk because he lit a cig in a moment of shock is a bit presumptuous.
I live on that side road and while riding home I got stuck in crazy traffic so took a diversion through back roads, only to get home, put the bike away and be asked by a neighbour to help block my road off with cones to stop traffic trying to get on the a406… I walked down and saw the rider and a heap of people standing outside. A women and her daughter (who was the nurse who gave CPR) told me what happened, so shocked! There where kids running into the road to get pictures of him lying there in his blood… Even while the police moved his body I could hear them shout at people to give the guy some dignity… Some people need to learn when its time to walk away! I feel for his family and friends and the sad news they will receive today! So sad to see let alone hear…
^ That is Shocking!! i read in my Local paper a few years back about a fatal accident on the A12 near the Moby Dick where the car was left over night all the Kids from that estate ransacked the car and stole the radio, all the CD’s and all personal belongings from it!!
Some Kids really need proper guidence on right and wrong!

I don’t think that was the causal link implied, although it wasn’t me who said it so I don’t really know.
The article says he had drinks. He admitted to 2 drinks.
Not nice… I don’t blame the kids as such but the way media and society has changed. Look at facebook. I see lots of graphic videos being shared and posted etc from all over the world.

And I repeat… .my point was about the question posed on here as to who lights a CIG when they’ve caused a crash… Unrelated to the story. The you was a generalist you… Not directed at someone.
No behavioral change since … well since ever . Battlefields and the dead would be looted during all the big battles of the day … people would set up to watch the battle and wait for the looting at the end , they probably did not care if it was Normans , Tudors ,Scots ,Welsh who won , just the looting was why they were there . WW2 houses bombed were looted while the dead were still under the rubble . It’s nowt new , we are no more civilised then we ever were … some extra laws to try keep us in check but when the law is absent or opportunity is seen we return to form .
